Afikra Matbakh is a podcast series that focuses on the food and drink of the Arab world. It is co-hosted by Selma Serry, Tony Tahan, and Mikey Muhanna. Some of the guests who have shared their stories and insights on the podcast are: – Nadir Nahdi, a food-lover, creator, and founder of BENI, a platform for underrepresented voices. – Anissa Helou, iconic chef, cookbook author, and food historian who has explored the cuisines of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North Africa. – Kamal Mouzawak, a Lebanese social entrepreneur and activist who created Souk el Tayeb, the first farmers’ market in Beirut, and Tawlet, a network of restaurants that celebrate regional diversity and heritage. – Sami Tamimi, a Palestinian chef and co-founder of Ottolenghi, a group of restaurants and delis in London that offer innovative dishes with influences from the Levant, North Africa, and Asia. – Claudia Roden, a Egyptian-British food writer and scholar who has written seminal books on the cuisines of the Middle East, Spain, Italy, and Jewish communities around the world. – Tala Bashmi, a Bahraini chef and entrepreneur who specializes in fusions of traditional Gulf dishes with international flavors and techniques. – Nasser Jaber, a Palestinian-American chef and co-founder of The Migrant Kitchen, a social enterprise that employs and empowers immigrants and refugees through food.
