    The Art of Creative Living

    The Art of Creative Living

    by

    Since Jan 12, 2019 08:05 UTC

The Art of Creative Living is the podcast for heart-centred creatives & entrepreneurs who want to build a fulfilling, prosperous, and joyful life, while nurturing their creativity and embracing playfulness, gentleness and rest along the way. If you are ready to follow your heart, nurture your self-belief, and bring to life what you long to create in the world, you’ve found a home here. And if you’re looking to define success on your own terms and be inspired by people living an unconventional life, this is the podcast for you. The Art of Creative Living is hosted by Nicola Newman, an award-winning artist, creative mentor and business coach, and founder of the year-long creativity school, Flourish: The Art of Creative Living. She works with creatives to help them prioritise, nurture and express their creativity and supports heart-centred entrepreneurs to bring their creative projects and dreams to life, all while cruising the coast of Australia on a 35 foot sailboat! Through solo shows and guest interviews exploring all things to do with Creative Living, this podcast will inspire you to be brave, follow your heart and create more. Find additional inspiration + creative goodies at www.nicolanewman.com

Years ago, I went to a yoga class and found I couldn’t bend or be as flexible as the other participants there. And it triggered a moment of shame for me.

I had to remind myself that if you are beginning a new creative process or project, you are beginning – and that’s exactly where you should be!

If you compare yourself with others and allow that to stop you from continuing on, it will cheat you of your own enjoyment and learning.

In this episode, we explore the value of being aware of our own great expectations and how we can set ourselves up for greater enjoyment when we embrace where we are in the creative process.

If you are feeling inspired to deepen your own relationship to creative living, including nurturing your creative expression and being kind to yourself, you can receive direct support, guidance and tools from me inside Flourish: The Art of Creative Living.

It’s a program that weaves together supportive practices for creative hearts from all walks of life – whether you’re an aspiring creative, a creative professional, or a creative entrepreneur – into one complete tapestry. Along the way, you’ll meet an incredible, encouraging community of fellow Creative Hearts, who you can both receive support from and offer support to in return while you explore painting, journaling, photography, writing, mindfulness, and other creative practices to help your craft a life that is deeply fulfilling, meaningful, and true to you.

Registration for Flourish: The art of creative living is now open. You can find out more about it at http://www.nicolanewman.com/flourish.You’re also invited to receive my free seven-day Art of Creative Living introductory course, which is a wonderful overview of my approach and gives you tools and practices you can implement right away, giving you a taste of what you’ll experience inside the full program. You can find that free mini-course here https://www.nicolanewman.com/flourishwithpainting

I hope you enjoy this episode!

Why You Should Visit Ukhamba Brewery

Why You Should Visit Ukhamba Brewery

    by

    Since Aug 2, 2021 06:04 UTC

The craft beer industry was growing steadily before COVID-19. Thanks to the rise of taprooms — allowing breweries of all sizes to generate consistent revenue. For many of these businesses, distribution mattered less than the customers who walked into breweries and bought pints. The on-premise industry has shut down under the threat of the novel coronavirus. Suddenly the financial lifeblood of many breweries — their taprooms — has morphed into deadweight. We asked people why they think you should visit Ukhamba Brewery.

    This Election

    This Election

    by

    Since Sep 4, 2024 22:29 UTC

This podcast series offers a new way of looking at politics, one that focuses on how we engage with others rather than on our partisan identities or policy preferences. It explores why politics is so triggering and offers spiritual practices that heal past wounds, ground us in our bodies, and connect us to that which transcends our differences.

The guests on this series are women and men whose wisdom I discovered, and relied on, while running a homeless shelter during the pandemic. Their offerings invited me into practices that enabled me to work with hope in very dark times. I believe their wisdom also offers a way forward to those of us who yearn for a different type of politics.

If you are committed to active citizenship but feel worn down by a political culture of fear and anger, this podcast is for you. If you have lost sleep over politics, or your temper, or a friend, know that you are not alone. Politics is hard but is something we can heal from and it is something we can change. It won’t be easy. It will take practice but my hope is that the conversations here open us up, individually and collectively, to a new way of engaging. This Election we will do politics differently.
