    Daily Border Crossings

    Daily Border Crossings

    by

    Since Jun 2, 2020 18:03 UTC

Daily Border Crossings is a show that looks at what it’s like to feel like you’re crossing a border each day when you show up at a place. It could be work, school, college, a place you volunteer, maybe your neighborhood. Each day when you arrive, you feel like you have to leave so much of yourself outside the door, you can’t bring all of you with you, and it feels like you’re crossing a border. Each episode, we talk to people who feel this way, sometimes to those who CAUSE others to feel this way, and have general conversations around “othering” and not including certain types of people.

    Ready Steady Read

    by

    Since Oct 7, 2009 14:47 UTC

This month Chris Kane and James Lavery speak to thriller writer Paul Henke at the launch of his tenth novel “the Seventh Circle”. They discuss why writing a biography is something every celebrity will do, and review Michael Parkinson’s “Parkinson” and Paul O’Grady’s “At My Mother’s Knee”. There’s a review of Cory Doctorov’s “Little Brother”, a novel set in our increasingly surveillance happy society, which leads Chris and James to talk about other authors who have used “Big Brother” as the theme for their books. There’s also iWrite, where Chris talks about an impending ebook format war and James finds the online blog of one of Hollywood’s most famous and enduring stars. Join Chris Kane and James Lavery for their Christmas and New Year special show. They’ll be suggesting Christmas presents for different members of the family and asking what role Annuals have to play in the twenty first century. And as the first decade of that century is coming to an end, Chris and James each pick the books they think have had the most impact in the last ten years.

    The Awakened Dad

    The Awakened Dad

    by

    Since Jul 19, 2021 16:11 UTC

The Awakened Dad is a podcast for those of you who have lost your connection to who you really are because the pressures to be someone else was too great. These are intimate conversations with Artists, Creators and Mavens of our time who have broken through their own programming to create and build individual lives that are impacting humanity as a whole. Brent Herd was an early pioneer in the Digital Media Space, having been an early Twitter employee and going through the rocket ship growth and pressures from a small 200 person company to a publicly traded company. He knows a thing or two about the pressure to succeed and how in order to be successful we have to detach from who it is we truly are and the things that are most important to us. After leaving Twitter, he underwent emergency surgery and complications that eventually led to his Spiritual Awakening. He learned that each one of us is born with a Unique Seed of Greatness and is on a mission to help others uncover their own. If we can reconnect to who we really are, we can help, heal and protect 100,000,000 children. This is our mission and it starts with us. In today’s episode, I talk about one of the most important jobs in our life and the first step in that job is to understand what we are running from in our lives. It is incredibly hard for most of us to sit down and ask ourselves this question, but at the same time it is critical to where we are going. I open up today’s show with an amazing artist by the name of Zac Bryan and his depth of song writing with his hit “Traveling Man”. I think we all can learn from this one… Happy Holidays and please rate us or give us a review on Apple Podcasts if your heart desires… Much Love, Brent

    Local Over Everything

    Local Over Everything

    by

    Since Feb 20, 2015 15:25 UTC

Local Over Everything is a weekly online, lifestyle broadcast hosted by Rodney Blu and Mo the Bear, featuring live music selection from Simon Phoenix. The focus of Local Over Everything is to provide the news, content and perspective that affects and interests of our young, creative community in Dallas, Texas and the world. The conversations held on Local Over Everything, honest and unfiltered, can be heard nowhere else and has become the defining characteristic of the program. Audiences from all over the world tune in for not only the latest in news and current events, but for the unique perspectives, both comical and candid, provided by the hosts and guests. In addition to the dialogue, Local Over Everything features musical interludes that encompass several genres. Anything from electronic to hip-hop, pop to spoken word, jazz to music yet undefined can be heard on Local Over Everything. The music is just as important as the content itself as Local Over Everything has become one of the most prominent online destinations for the emerging beats culture movement. Fans of Local Over Everything likely subscribe to similar tastemakers/collectives like Soulection, Future Beats, Flow-Fi, HW&W and more, specializing in what has been unanimously regarded as the future of popular music. Local Over Everything has become the epicenter of these particular tastes, sounds and culture in the city of Dallas, the southwest reigon of the United States and our listenership throughout the world . The long-term effort of Local Over Everything is to curate the largely unsung culture of young people in Dallas and the world who are fighting everyday to be respected and represented. Hosts Rodney Blu, Mo The Bear and Simon Phoenix are young, educated Black men who love music and community. Local Over Everything has undergone many transformations and incarnations in its duration but remains the destination for what you know, what you love and what you need to know.

    Our Neurodivergent Life

    by

    Since Jan 13, 2021 21:35 UTC

This podcast will cover a plethora of topics and has been created as a space to celebrate Neurodiversity. It is also a place where we can embrace our Neurodivergence, and unapologetically be ourselves. We are quite political and forthcoming with our opinions. You don’t have to agree with them, but they will be presented here, often quite passionately. Warning: Explicit language may be present in some recordings. Season 1 includes ‘off the cuff recordings’, rather than planned discussions, so they are a little more ‘raw’.

Welcome to ‘Hot Off The Mess,’ a pop culture news podcast from Hurrdat Media starring Samantha Bush (a.k.a. @bravohistorian) as your host. Think of it as ’60 Minutes,’ but for Bravo fans. Each week, Samantha will be covering Bravo’s breaking news stories and messiest moments, sometimes with the help of her Bravo-obsessed fans and even Bravo-lebrities themselves. And no one will be holding back. It might get weird, it might get snarky, and it’s definitely going to get messy.
