ALL GROWN UP: A tale of retail, relocation, revenge, re-invention, reckless behavior, really good clothes, indiscretion, infidelity, domestic violence, and one kidnapping. This is a memoir, told in a series of podcasts, by Kenneth D. King, podcasting from his studio near union Square in New York City. It’s the story of a small-town boy who dreams of being a “grown-up”, and his journey to get there. Each week, you’ll hear another installment of his story. All Grown Up Now is the story of a life, seen through the framework of a friendship. Written like a novel, the story follows two main characters, Ken, and Mark, on a fast-paced romp through the 1980’s and early 90’s, blazing a path through retail, relocation, revenge, re-invention, reckless behavior, really good clothes, infidelity, domestic violence, kidnapping, and one kidnapping. (Really.) While it runs from the 1980’s to early 90’s, this isn’t a story that runs in a straight line–the story itself serves somewhat as a string for “beads”, episodes which are flashbacks and detours that relate back to the story at hand—the story of how Ken becomes a “grown-up”. All Grown Up Now: A Friendship in Three acts, available as a printed book, or an eBook, on Amazon.com.

    5-4

    5-4

    by

    Since Feb 4, 2020 20:26 UTC

5-4 is a podcast about how much the Supreme Court sucks. It’s a progressive and occasionally profane take on the ideological battles at the heart of the Court’s most important landmark cases, and an irreverent tour of all the ways in which the law is shaped by politics. Listen each week as hosts Peter, Michael, and Rhiannon dismantle the Justices’ legal reasoning on hot-button issues like affirmative action, gun rights, and campaign finance, and use dark humor to reveal the high court’s biases. Presented by Slow Burn co-creator Leon Neyfakh, 5-4 is a production of Prologue Projects.

In 2002, a student held up a banner that said “Bong Hits 4 Jesus” at an Olympic torch relay, in full view of his classmates and teachers. When he was suspended, he claimed his banner was protected free speech under the First Amendment. The Supreme Court disagreed. In this episode, your hosts discuss the contours of student free speech, the Court’s puritanical moralizing on marijuana, and the importance of absurdist speech in creating real change.

Greetings from North America. My channel is about reading music and becoming a master of the keyboard. Students should believe that great results are “just a day away”. From Annie, the musical. For six years I studied classical music for piano, theory and attended concerts in NYC. In 1992, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from The King’s College in upstate NY. Not long after, I worked as keyboard advisor for Lowrey organs, taught keyboard at a senior center and performed in public as a ballad singer. Read my book “Songbird at the Shopping Mall.” The Beat Goes On. Sonny & Cher.
