Welcome to Funeral Potatoes and Wool Mittens, a show for people who embrace the warm and cozy spirit of everyday living in the northern Midwest. Whether you cook, bake, or have food delivery on speed dial, everyone has a comforting recipe or story to share. We bake cookies for our kids’ hockey teams and bring cheesy hash browns to funerals. Lefse and krumkake are in our DNA. Candy bars and apples make a salad. We’ll ditch work for a lake day, drive an hour for an old-fashioned bakery, and don wool mittens at 20 below. A food podcast for all. Tune in with Staci from Random Sweets in Minnesota. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/potatoesandmittens/support

What story do you want to be told about you and the business you created? If you want it to be one of success, one of creating a better world, one of inspiration and influence, one of making lots of money, one of having time for friends and family, one of serving others, and one that you are genuinely proud of, then this podcast is for you. This show is a platform designed to help change the story about women in business and entrepreneurship. Change the story told about us, to us and most importantly change the story we tell ourselves. This show will inspire, motivate and empower women, myself included, it will also share strategies and tools, so that we all rise together and change the story of women in business and entrepreneurship. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

The creators of the audiobook for UCD’s digital multimedia edition of ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’ have considerable expertise in bringing James Joyce’s voice to life. University College Dublin Professor Gerardine Meaney and Athena Media previously collaborated with Barry McGovern, the well-known Irish actor, on the podcast series and an iPhone app based on ‘The Dead’. In 2016, Sam McGovern joined this team to create a full-length audio version of Joyce’s first novel. Rather than featuring a single voice, this reading of the novel creates a dialogue between Joyce’s mature voice and that of his younger, remembered self. The interplay of these two voices in this reading of the 1916 text represents a unique contemporary interpretation of Joyce’s coming-of-age novel, whose themes remain as raw and as relevant today as they did upon their original publication. The digital multimedia edition of Joyce’s first novel was created by a team from University College Dublin as part of the Decade of Centenaries (2012-2022), which celebrates Irish history and cultural heritage. www.joyceportrait100.com

Violinist Zach Brock talks to his friends and colleagues about what makes them tick. “Facility can inform your creativity but it’s not where the creativity comes from.” In Shat Talk Episode 005 I spoke with three time Grammy Award-winning guitarist and composer Bob Lanzetti who is releasing his debut record Whose Feet are These That are Walking on September 29. Whose Feet are These That are Walking consists of six original compositions written over an 8-year period, as well as a cover of the Beach Boys’ single ‘Caroline No.’ This instrumental record organically melds together a variety of genres including Americana, Jazz, Avant-garde, Rock, Afro-beat, and Country. The compositions are melodic and “tuneful,” with the guitar acting, at times, more as a lead vocalist than a lead guitarist. Whose Feet are These That are Walking features Bob Lanzetti on electric, acoustic, baritone, and hammertone guitars and piano, Philip Sterk on pedal steel guitar, Matt Aronoff on bass, and Jordan Perlson on drums. Additionally, several tracks include different guest musicians including members of Snarky Puppy (Cory Henry and Michael League). Having played together in a variety of settings for over 10 years, the band is able to move as one, effortlessly changing styles as well as weaving between composition and improvisation. Whose Feet are These That are Walking is set to be released on September 29th with a US tour to follow. All songs composed by Bob Lanzetti except “Caroline, No” written by Brian Wilson and Tony Asher. The songs heard in this podcast are: B Ivory Caroline, No Jenny Is A Donkey Happy Stranger Frances Pre-order the Digital Album at https://shop.trycelery.com/page/599714c059879b1100d6f7a2 Pre-order the CD at https://shop.trycelery.com/page/5997094d59879b1100d6f771 www.boblanzetti.com www.facebook.com/bob.lanzetti www.instagram.com/boobspaghetti www.twitter.com/risidualnoise
