We live in a time when everything is connected to everything else. From “smart” houses to “smart” cars, from cashless banking to wearable sensors new technological advances are part of what we call the “Internet of Things” and are now integrated with nearly all aspects of daily living. Even if you are not a user of the computer or the internet, you are a user of things. If you wonder what the IoT could mean for you, this podcast is your guide to understanding how these soon-to-be common technologies affect you and your family and how to use them for increased safety, security, convenience, and improved quality of life. Whether you are a mainstream user of technology, part of the sandwich generation—that is, somewhere between caring for aging parents and still supporting young people, or perhaps you are a baby boomer trying to navigate the age of the Internet of Things, let this podcast be your guide. This podcast is based on the book, You and the Internet of Things, published by Self-Counsel Press in April of 2020. It’s a practical guide to understanding and integrating the IoT into your daily life. The book launched in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic. The publisher and I agreed that this content could be useful to people who rely on the internet more than ever to stay connected, informed, and entertained during this challenging time. The podcast is our gift to you.

You know how we’re told not to judge until we hear both sides? We mostly hear what a woman should and what a man should do or not. How about we hear from the both of them at same time and reach a unified conclusion? The view of a man’s story from a woman’s perspective. And that of a woman from a man’s perspective. And the other way round. Yeah, the deal here is to get the story from both sides to have a balanced view of a relationship and the rest of it all.

Skit Your Shorts is a short stories sketch comedy podcast hosted by comedy writer, Dutch Foley, and an evil-ish AI program named, Plot Bot 9000. Each week, Plot Bot challenges Dutch and his friends with the task of making him laugh with hilarious sketches and short stories. If they fail to launch his giggle code, (01101000 01100001) he promises to initiate the robot wars and destroy all humans. Can comedy save the world? Find out in the next episode! While listening Skit Your Shorts, you may laugh, you may cry, or you may drive your car into a burning building. If the latter, ask yourself, “am I a moth? Why else would I drive straight into this shining ball of fire? Who gave a moth a driver’s license?” While you’re busy contemplating your mortality, someone else should be calling the fire department. I bet the firefighters look just like in those calendars full of beefy hunks welcoming you into each month. Just kidding, they’re probably all out of shape. Why else would the building still be on fire long enough for you to drive into it? Beefcakes would have been there in seconds. Firetruck? Forget it, musclefighters run to the scene and flex until the flames cower and dissipate. Tune in weekly for the best comedy podcast that no one is listening to!
