A Shout from the Long Grass

    by

    Since Dec 4, 2018 00:35 UTC

At dawn on the 25th of October 1878, a search party of four Victoria policemen rode out of Mansfield in north east Victoria to find and arrest Ned Kelly. They would not all return. ‘A Shout from the Long Grass – The Police Murders at Stringybark Creek’ is a podcast from Victoria Police that tells the story of one of the deadliest attacks ever on police in Victoria, and one of the most infamous chapters in Australian history. Narrated by Ralph Stavely. Original music by the Victoria Police Band. McIntyre finally found help after a gruelling 22 hour trek through the bush. Despite his injuries, he immediately rode out with a second search party to recover the bodies of Lonigan and Scanlan. The fate of Sergeant Kennedy was still unknown.

This podcast explores the multi-faceted life here in Africa. We will sift through the greatness of safaris, conservation efforts, community projects across the continent and meet an inspiring variety of people who are committed and passionate about what they do. Welcome to the adventure!
