A common response to a woman coming forward about sexual assault is no response at all. Beyond the failings of law enforcement and the court system to provide justice, it is, perhaps most painfully, family and friends that let victims down. “This Happened” is one woman’s exploration of this phenomenon. To find out why her friends and family dismissed the news that she had been sexually assaulted by someone they knew, she asks them, and records what they have to say. In this limited five part series, you’ll hear those conversations. You’ll learn why her friends did what they did. Their answers are personal and painful, but they paint a broader picture of how rape culture works, how pervasive it is, and the damage it can do.

Same Boat Huddle | For the Overwhelmed Woman Who Wants to Live a Life She Craves

    by

    Since Jul 19, 2018 04:00 UTC

Same Boat Huddle is a place where real women come to have real talk about the overwhelm, anxiety, lack of self care and loss of individual identity. We talk about not falling victim to this way of thinking, changing our lack mindsets into abundance, and discussing real ways to live a life of happiness and joy while living in alignment. It’s about challenging the societal norms and stories and showing ourselves that we don’t have to live like we’re drowning. Erin is a mother and small business owner; she creates these conversations by sharing her own personal experiences and interviewing like minded women. Discussions involve adult conversation and interviews, spirituality, things that are considered woo-woo. It’s real and raw talk with brave, strong and inspiring women and stories. Join Erin in her free Facebook Community, Same Boat Huddle, over at www.facebook.com/groups/SameBoatHuddleGet in touch with Erin at erin@ejoycephotography.com. She loves to hear your thoughts, what and you’d love to hear on the podcast. Check out Erin’s work and life at www.ejoycephotography.com/blogFollow Erin on Instagram @photogerinj and Facebook at www.facebook.com/ErinJoycePhotographyAnd if you feel inclined, I’d love for you to rate this podcast. My goal is to reach as many women as possible for them to know they are not alone. For them to know that it doesn’t have to be or feel so hard. That we can work, create our own business, be a mom a wife and feel energized and healthy and that it doesn’t have to feel impossible. Your ratings will help me reach these women. Thank you! xo
