Path of the Miriam is a fictional podcast set in space, some few hundred years in the future. Featuring a completely queer cast, and several POC voices, PotM follows the crew of the Science Vessel Miriam, led by their abrasive Captain Reni. Among a crew of aliens, it’s the new crew member Nym, a human, who stands out, for on her back is an active star chart, something that should be impossible.

    Phenomenal Ocean

    Phenomenal Ocean

    by

    Since Mar 20, 2020 16:29 UTC

This podcast series explores the agency of the ocean. Can the ocean think? feel? Act? And yes, it does! We have been collaborating with TBA21–Academy for some years now in our common pursuit of a non-binary understanding of the coexistence of culture and nature, of us and the ocean. This podcast series should therefore be viewed as the beginning of a series of humble but meaningful productions that address these very issues. Now that we are so worried about our own existence, we should also consider the existence of other nonhuman forms of life. Now that we are so anxious about our future, we may be able to understand the fear held by nature, by the oceans, by all those that have felt threatened by our actions. We really hope you enjoy this podcast channel and we are looking forward to providing further content and artistic input here and via social media channels as well as the Ocean Archive by TBA21–Academy. OCEAN WANTS Episode 15 to 25, is a series commissioned by TBA21–Academy that playfully explores how nonhumans could like our planet to be. In each episode, writer Ingo Niermann meets with an expert from a different field to ask: What would a given species come up with if it could be as dominant as humans have been? CORONA UNDER THE OCEAN Episode 6 to15 present conversations between guests from various disciplines and writer and curator Sonia Fernández Pan. The series Corona Under the Ocean offers a transoceanic perspective emerging from the fields of marine science, postcolonial studies, speculative histories, and political imagination. PHENOMENAL OCEAN Episode 1 to 5 are based on contributions at The Current II, Summer School, and Convening #2: Phenomenal Ocean, both led by Chus Martínez, and held at TBA21–Academy at Ocean Space in Venice in September 2019. Can what is necessary be as well pleasurable? Can a radical transformation, following the principles of feminism, anti-racism, and anti-fascism eventually be easier than we think and closer than we expect? Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus – Full AudioBook

Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus – Full AudioBook

    by

    Since Apr 28, 2024 19:20 UTC

Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley is a Gothic novel that explores themes of creation and responsibility. The story follows Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant scientist who becomes obsessed with discovering the secret to life. After extensive experimentation, he successfully brings a creature to life, but is horrified by its grotesque appearance and abandons it.

The creature, abandoned and rejected, is left to fend for itself in a world that views it with fear and hostility. As it grapples with its own existence and seeks acceptance, it becomes increasingly isolated and vengeful. The creature’s quest for revenge against Victor for creating it leads to a tragic series of events.

The novel examines the consequences of defying natural boundaries and the ethical dilemmas of scientific advancement. It delves into themes of isolation, the pursuit of knowledge, and the responsibilities of a creator towards their creation. Through its dark narrative and complex characters, Frankenstein raises profound questions about humanity, ambition, and the moral implications of playing God. Summary by Dream Audio Books

Matthew and Drew are best friends who share a passion for tattoos, travel and hair. They’re both professional hairstylists who have worked at fashion weeks around the world, styled some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood and had their work featured in countless magazines. But both their careers began unconventionally- they began cutting their own hair in their teens, then became college athletes who decided to follow their true passion- styling hair. Their work and adventures have taken them around the world where they discovered that hair is both a specifically personal and broadly unifying thing. Through their journeys, both personal and professional, they’ve heard some of the most fascinating stories from fellow hairstylists and clients how hair has transformed not just their look, their confidence and their spirits- but also their lives. Here are some of these stories.

The chronoscope shows strange images of a dark tower ruled by men with stingers on their foreheads. An accident with the machine results in minds being switched between Cambridge and the dark tower.
