Sharing our survivor stories from Breast cancer gives us a voice in a voiceless system and helps equip others diagnosed how to fight the Battle Ahead. As we share we help others know how to fight, how to find hope, and how to advocate for themselves along the way. It helps you know that you can fight and do hard things too! As a survivor I found the health system left me feeling unheard, unseen, and dismissed. I turned to the internet to find the answers I didn’t get from my health team. I found very little outside from medical facilities. This led me on the journey to give back and provide what I was searching for. What better way to know how to fight than to hear from others warriors who fought and won! It will look different for each person facing Breast Cancer, but you will not be alone. Connect with me on all other social media platforms as well.

Kids, It’s Time We Have THE TALK – because doing the sex-thing or doing the drug-thing can ruin a kid’s life, but NOT doing The God-thing can ruin a kid’s eternity. Catholic dad, John R. VanBuskirk tells his kids about God & God-stuff, Living & Dying, Heaven & hell. He explains the purpose of life to his twenty-something-year-old kids and the importance of getting through life rather than merely being successful in it. Kids, It’s Time We Have THE TALK will help one keep First-Things-First. It will enable one to explain why First-Things are First-Things. It’s the talk parents are obligated to have with kids. It’s the talk each of us is obligated to have with ourselves.

Poetry reveals deep emotion–emotion that would possibly stay hidden otherwise. There’s poetry in everything we do: The way you walk, the rhythm of your heart beat, the way you speak, the sound of your voice, relationships, work–they all involve poetry–a quality of beauty and special intensity of emotion given to the expression of feelings and ideas with distinctive style and rhythm, as Oxford intelligently describes. The questions are… Who are the people really brave enough to reveal their true thoughts and feelings? Does it matter how it’s revealed? Is the poet the brave one? ✍🏾 Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/poetrynmotions/support

This is where I, a certified Internet Nobody, talk about whatever I want to talk about, because I don’t imagine anyone’s listening. New episodes—let’s be honest—sporadically.
Join us for a round-table discussion of a new title in Young Adult literature! We’ll be joined by readers, teachers, librarians, authors, and media critics as we converse about these books. Even if you haven’t read one of our titles yet, you’ll be able to listen to the first half of each episode spoiler-free. Although we read a wide variety of books, we especially love those with diverse casts of characters and those that tackle a range of issues. We always look at books for their valuable representation and wide range of experiences.

We talk about true stories that we think should be made into TV shows or movies. First we talk about why they belong on-screen — then we talk about how we’d like to see them on-air: Who should direct, who should write, who should star. We dig up lesser-known people whose stories deserve to be told, forgotten moments in history, and fresh angles on very familiar memories.
Your hosts, Tim and Deirdre, are married writers who only recommend stories that we would personally want to see. Join us and follow us at @ShootThisNowPod. Thanks!
We love you.
