Shipwreck: A History Play About 2017

    by

    Since Oct 16, 2020 15:00 UTC

Shipwreck: A History Play About 2017 Audio Version and Original Stage Play by Anne Washburn Directed and Freely Adapted by Saheem Ali Produced by The Public Theater In a co-production with Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company Original Music Composed and Performed by The Bengsons Sound Designer Palmer Hefferan Audio Engineering by UltraViolet Audio; Matt Boynton Owner and Chief Engineer; Lead Audio Engineer Ania Grzesik Assistant Audio Engineer Beth Lake In Fall 2020, as the election draws near, tune in to a searing and searching new audio drama from acclaimed playwright Anne Washburn about America’s present-day divisions, seen through the eyes of the very recent past. SHIPWRECK centers on a group of liberal friends gathered at an upstate farmhouse on a day of crystalline beauty. While the weather outside grows increasingly apocalyptic and the conversation within grows precariously honest, the group discovers that in turbulent times, every dinner invitation comes at a cost. Slated to be a stage production in The Public’s 2020 season, SHIPWRECK has been re-worked specifically for an audience listening from home or headphones. Saheem Ali directs this harrowing and hilarious masterpiece about race, religion, family and the nightmarish fallout of the American experiment. Featuring Mia Barron , Brooke Bloom, Phillip James Brannon , Bill Camp, Rob Campbell, Raúl Esparza, Sue Jean Kim, Jenny Jules, Bruce McKenzie, Joe Morton, Jeremy Shamos, and Richard Topol.

    Museums in Strange Places

    by

    Since Oct 16, 2017 15:12 UTC

I believe that museums are one of the best ways to discover a place, whether it’s your first time visiting or you’ve lived there your whole life. Join me on this adventure as I get to know the world….one museum as a time. I’m your host, Hannah Hethmon. In each episode, I visit a different museum to discover its stories, discuss challenges and triumphs with fascinating museum professionals (and volunteers), and get to places through their museums. Season 1 is all about museums in Iceland. Season 2 is all about museums in the state of Maryland. NOTE from the creator: This show is no longer active. I hope you enjoy all the past episodes. I produce lots of other museum (and museum-adjacent) podcasts. You can find them at BetterLemonAudio.com. Also check out We the Museum, my podcast for museum workers. Interested in starting a podcast at your organization? Find out more about my editing and production services at BetterLemonAudio.com.

How to Analyze People on Sight Through the Science of Human Analysis: The Five Human Types by Elsie Lincoln Benedict

How to Analyze People on Sight Through the Science of Human Analysis: The Five Human Types by Elsie Lincoln Benedict

    by

    Since Sep 20, 2020 00:00 UTC

In this popular American book from the 1920s, accomplished public speaker and self-help charlatan Elsie Lincoln Benedict outlines her pseudo-scientific system of “Human Analysis”. She proposes that, within the human race, five sub-types have developed through evolutionary processes, each with its own distinct character traits and corresponding outward appearance. She offers to teach the reader how to recognise these five types of people and understand their innate differences. Her ideas have never been taken seriously by the scientific community, but this book is considered a classic within its genre and remains in print today. Summary by Carl Manchester. Haven’t You Heard?

    by

    Since Sep 1, 2020 15:43 UTC

‘Haven’t You Heard?’ is an improvised radio play and the debut podcast from Theatre(ish) productions. Each episode sees our improvisers come together to introduce their favourite radio play and invite you to listen to the next episode. This radio play has, of course, never been heard before! Our improvisers create the whole thing in front of your very ears. It’s spontaneous, hilarious, and downright ridiculous – haven’t you heard? (This podcast was conceived during the C-19 lockdown and recorded via Zoom. Though a high production quality was our aim, internet sometimes had other ideas).
