Self? Help! is the podcast for anyone who’s thought: Who the hell am I? What in god’s name am I doing? And how did I get here of all places? And then to figure it all out, you turned to a book—because you’re that kind of person, and so is your host, Moth Storyteller and creator of Memory Motel, Terence Mickey. He doesn’t care from where you seek your guidance, whether it’s Leo Tolstoy or Dr. Seuss. He’s a firm believer that we cannot get enough help in this life and that books are, indeed, magic. In Season 1, listen in as Terence talks with New York Times best-selling authors Susan Cain, Paula McLain, Johann Hari, Sarah Knight, and Eli Finkel.

Real men don’t take guff from snotty kids. Neither does Disko Troop, skipper of the “We’re Here”, a fishing schooner out of Gloucester, Massachusetts, when his crew fishes Harvey Cheyne out of the Atlantic. There’s no place on the Grand Banks for bystanders, so Harvey is press-ganged into service as a replacement for a man lost overboard and drowned. Harvey is heir to a vast fortune, but his rescuers believe none of what he tells them of his background. Disko won’t take the boat to port until it is full of fish, so Harvey must settle in for a season at sea. Hard, dangerous work and performing it alongside a grab-bag of characters in close quarters is a life-changing experience. And when Harvey at last is reunited with his parents, who have thought him dead for months, he must face the hard decisions of how he will allow his experience to change his life. We are two childhood best friends, Morgan and Sam, who have a passion for reading that led to forming our own podcast. While Sam reads books with magic, weapons, and girls with supernatural powers, also known as fantasy, Morgan reads books related to romance, LGBTQ theme books, and on the odd day horror novels. We decided to start a podcast after realizing that we spent four to five hours on the phone just talking about the recent books we’ve read. This has allowed us to not only stay close as friends but for us to expand what we are reading.

A podcast by indie artist Will Joseph Cook. With a new creative guest in every episode, the Bad Hotel podcast explores the worlds of music, art, live performance and what it’s like to live in these worlds. It’s a relatable hang that hopefully sheds some light on the often mysterious and weird journeys creatives go through to reach where they’re at. That said, it does frequently ride off the rails.

Arts podcasts include all types of creative and performing arts. Most notably, Arts is the main category where visual arts podcasts and literature podcasts can be found. It also has some overlap with music and film podcasts, which each have separate categories of their own.
