    Act of Will

    by

    Since Jan 11, 2011 04:22 UTC

Book II of the Andersson Dexter series. Andersson Dexter is a new man, still living his old life. Part vigilante, part private eye, part cop, Dex is muddling his way through his day job as a faceless customer service rep for a giant firm, while solving routine cases in his off hours. But when a gruesomely mutilated corpse is found, things heat up for Dex and the underground organization he calls the Cubicle Men. Soon, Dex finds himself racing against the clock to find a killer who seems to be determined to strike him close to home. In a grim future where people live and work in crowded, utilitarian cities, but escape to an online virtual world, Act of Will explores the capacity we have to choose the directions our lives will take, and the consequences of those choices.

    The Space of the Waist™

    The Space of the Waist™

    by

    Since Jan 4, 2022 08:00 UTC

The show is about the personal empowerment and confidence that dressing for your body shape by your waist length will provide. These tools are 30 years in the discovery. The Space of the Waist is that space between the bottom of your bustline or bra band down to the place where your waist nips in the most. That SPACE determines your individual silhouettes that look the most flattering on you. Guests may be invited on to the show to discuss design and silhouettes/styles for body shapes and waist lengths. Guests may include designers, patternmakers, retailers, factory owners, alterations experts and merchandise managers. Also, women with various and long or short waists are invited to discuss their real-life shopping problems in finding clothes that flatter them. Accessory designers will give proportion tips for body shapes. Seasonal fashion trends and colors will also be discussed and tweaked for given body shapes and waist lengths. Ashley Brooks began as a Bridal store in Dallas. She connected with a team of talented designers in Paris, France. They collaborated and started a website with 4 designers. Her first collection was bridal gowns. Since that time Ashley has had many other items she has designed in dresses and party dresses to add to her collection..she is very excited about how things are developing.

    Beauty Is Political

    Beauty Is Political

    by

    Since Aug 18, 2020 22:37 UTC

Talia Emsalem and Maxine Tuyau know that beauty isn’t one size fits all. After years of not seeing themselves represented in the world of beauty, it became frustratingly clear that this industry tends to speak to one demographic: those who meet traditional western standards of beauty.

In the BiP podcast, Maxine and Talia share information on products and procedures for a more inclusive beauty industry, while having important and meaningful conversations. Expect candidness, beauty with a conscience, and a unique assortment of guests – from injectors, to nail techs, to people you might not know yet.

They don’t always have the same opinions, but they do both love a little enhancement (no those aren’t their real lashes), and they definitely agree on one thing: beauty IS, in fact, political.

    New episodes released every week.

Is the growing obsession with skincare a way for us to feel a sense of control in our lives? Can a skincare routine become a coping mechanism in a chaotic world, and is that dangerous? What’s the difference between a routine and a ritual?

Also! Talia’s housemate Georgie finally reveals her skincare regimen, and all of her nicknames! And everybody’s stance on mushrooms.

Is my obsession with perfect skin ruining my life? by Rachel Krause
