Stories to Read, Words to Know, Level G

Stories to Read, Words to Know, Level G

    by

    Since Aug 1, 2007 19:00 UTC

Stories to Read, Words to Know, Level G contains 12 meaningful stories that connect to students’ lives. Students are engaged by the charming illustrations and encouraged by the simple stories that help them build confidence while they increase their English vocabulary. The Stories to Read, Words to Know audio component contains two types of readings: 1) a Read Along and 2) an Echo Reading. Learners listen to the Read Along and follow along silently in their books. The Read Along, read by a skilled adult reader, models pronunciation and intonation and guides learners through the story with a bell that indicates when to turn the page. The Echo Reading is read by a skilled adult reader one sentence, phrase, or paragraph at a time and is echoed by student readers. The learner joins in echoing in unison with the student readers. Participating in an Echo Reading helps learners to gain confidence while reading aloud, supports them in reading material that may be too difficult to read independently, and provides practice with proper phrasing and expression.

Absolutely Nothing & All It Doesn’t Mean

    by

    Since Feb 19, 2020 01:52 UTC

Hi, I’m Mackenzie Draney, and in this podcast I’ll be exploring some philosophical implications of literary works assigned as readings in HON-317V, my current honors class at NMSU.
Part 1 episodes will begin with a brief retelling of the text, and then explore my own thoughts about what can be gathered from it. I will pose questions, discuss things I’m unclear about, and try to pick out themes and other literary devices.
Part 2 episodes will be recorded after discussion of the text on Tuesday classes. In these episodes, I’ll briefly summarize what I had mentioned in the corresponding Part 1 episode and then explore those subjects with knew insight from my peers in mind. Any of my questions or uncertainties from Part 1 episodes will, with luck, be answered or cleared up in Part 2 episodes.
Disclaimer: This podcast is a philosophical exploration of Holocaust literature; not a historically accurate retelling of events. I will add the book title, author, and full name of any of my peers whose ideas I refer to in the descriptions of each episode.
    Thanks for listening!
