Dry Run: A Memoir by Nikki MacCallum

    by

    Since Aug 11, 2021 01:55 UTC

Produced by Lambo Productions, LLC (Broadway: “A Christmas Carol,” 5 Tony Nominations), DRY RUN is a 26.2 episode serial podcast that compares the challenges of running a marathon to the struggles of alcohol addiction. It’s an audio version of Nikki MacCallum’s memoir that was released by Auctus Publisher’s in 2019 and featured on CBS. Mirroring the book’s format, each episode represents a mile of the marathon MacCallum ran as a Hail Mary pass of communication to her father, a recovering alcoholic and thirty-two-time marathoner himself, after he experienced a near death relapse. With original music by Brandon James Gwinn, DRY RUN features a cast of fifty-one (Casting by Tessa Faye Talent, LLC) and is narrated by author, Nikki MacCallum. The piece is directed by Nikki MacCallum and edited and engineered by Emily Crain.

    Kazakhstan programme open seminar series

    by

    Since Sep 20, 2012 11:20 UTC

The seminar series ‘Internationalisation and Educational Reform in Eastern European and the Commonwealth of Independent States’ is organised by the Kazakhstan programme research team as a platform for analysis, discussion and critique of the recent educational reforms in the Newly Independent nations of the former Soviet Union and its satellite states. From a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives the questions that we invite us all to explore are: – the Russian/Soviet inheritance and how this continues to shape education policy and practice – the relationship of educational reform to the development of post independence national identity – the internationalisation of education reform, the global education space, policy ‘borrowing’ and the indigenisation of international practice. All are welcome!

Mark Dawson is a best selling self-published author on multiple platforms including Amazon and Kobo. He is the author of the John Milton thriller series and its spin-off Beatrix Rose. In addition, he’s written several ‘Soho Noir’ novels. Mark’s breakthrough came when he developed a marketing strategy for promoting and selling his books. His swift success enabled him to quit his 9 to 5 job and he has generated gross revenues of more than a million dollars in less than five years.

Mark has become a leading voice in the self publishing industry and he advocates and teaches a strategy based around offering books for free, mailing list development and social media advertising. In 2015, he published the first version of what is now his acclaimed online course ‘Advertising for Authors’. He has also developed a course for writers at the start of their careers – Self Publishing 101.

James Blatch co-hosts the podcast and he represents the first time, wannabe author. James is a former BBC News journalist who is currently writing his first novel.

Between them James and Mark explore the world of self publishing with a focus on actionable tips for new and experienced indie authors.

What the hell am I doing in my 20s?

What the hell am I doing in my 20s?

    by

    Since Oct 22, 2023 23:00 UTC

What am I supposed to be doing in my 20s? Isn’t it the time to try out all the experiences I can while I’m in my youth? What if I’m broke? Should I be putting all my energy into a successful career? Should I be dating seriously at this age?
Our 20s is probably the most confusing, yet exciting but delusional time that a person will go through in their lives. In each episode, Ellen goes into all the experiences she’s been through as a 24 year old, in hopes that someone else will relate to her experiences and feel less alone about what they’re going through.
