Welcome to Women Get Lit!
Hey there, I’m Kasia, a passionate young Polish university student on a quest to unearth the hidden gems of literature.
As a young woman studying English, I have always been interested in discussions surrounding feminism. This series documents my journey of self-discovery, where I challenge the way I was taught to see and analyse literature at an all-girls school.
In each episode I explore a new book and theme that challenges women’s representation across various genres and times. I discuss how literature written by and about women has shaped my understanding of myself, other women, men and the word around me. I navigate through my own internalised anxieties and misogyny, as I reshape my understanding of women through literature.
I discuss a range of literary texts, from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales Bronte’s Jane Eyre, Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway to Radcliffe’s Mysteries of Udolpho. This only names a few.
Women Get Lit isn’t just about books; it’s about diving headfirst into the themes that matter most. We’ll discuss: marriage, creativity, violence against women, female voice, sexuality, and solidarity (its power and faults).
And the best part? I’m not alone on this literary adventure. It was important for me to capture a range of voices, perspectives and opinions. Joining me are university students, academics and even a therapist, each who have offered a unique perspective and insight into the world of books and studies.

Hi, I’m Wil Boudreau, AKA The First Gen X Man. Did I ever tell you about the time I made a pizza commercial with a certain very recent ex-president? Or how about the time I was fired by a New Jersey mobster? Or that summer when I definitely did not become a movie star? Of course not. We’ve never met. But now you can hear these funny stories and more. Ripped from the endless adventure that is my life. From growing up in the shag carpeting covered suburbs in the 1970’s.To working as an advertising “madman” for a couple of decades. To raising four boys under house arrest during COVID lockdown. It’s all been a hysterical, stressful, story, untold until now. My stories will make you laugh a lot and cry just a little. You know, just like your hair in 1985.

At Brainerd Baptist, we believe that God has called us to help those who are far from God become committed followers of Jesus Christ from the Scenic City to the nations. The strategy that we use to accomplish this is that we deliver the word, we disciple the believer and we deploy the church. Sermons are preached by Paul Laso.

The Experience Milwaukee podcast highlights the people and places that make Milwaukee great. Hosted by Steve Glynn and Adam Derus, the two keep things light and humorous, often making fun of themselves and the things they share with listeners. Maybe that’s because the podcast is typically (ok always) recorded over a few drinks! (opinions are our own)
