    by

    Since Mar 20, 2018 10:20 UTC

Comedy writers Jason Hazeley and Joel Morris talk to people who make comedy about something funny that they love. Guests pick something that makes them laugh. A book, a film, a tv show, a comic, a radio show, anything. Maybe we find out something about how comedy works, or we just giggle until we’re finished. Both approaches are valid.

    First & Foremost

    First & Foremost

    by

    Since Jan 21, 2024 23:42 UTC

First & Foremost is a dynamic conversation based show hosted by Kenny and Day Day from The Father’s Group. Expect at least two shows a month with the occasional special episode! What will we be discussing? What it’s like to live, work, and (try to) relax in Central Oregon while being Black! With a population of ~1%, the vibe of this town can sometimes put you through it while other times give you deep hope! Join us as we discuss culture, food, the non-profit sector, day to day experiences along with some great interviews of Black Central Oregonians as well as Friends of the organization! This show will often times be raw at times but will also have a heavy level of humor mixed in each episode. Regardless, some of the content may contain some pills that are hard to swallow… But if we have to live in this reality, life doesn’t sugar coat for anyone. And Neither will we!

    What is Tragedy?

    What is Tragedy?

    by

    Since Mar 1, 2010 15:21 UTC

Tragedy has been around for over 2500 years, from its earliest manifestations in the huge open-air gathering-places of Athens and other Greek city-states, to the theatres of Renaissance England, Spain and France, right through to the twentieth century with its cinematic tragedies, and the disturbing works of Harold Pinter and Samuel Beckett. In four dialogues, Oliver Taplin, Emeritus Professor, and Joshua Billings, a graduate student in the Oxford Classics Faculty, ask and discuss what tragedy is, what tragedy does for people, whether tragedy teaches, and if tragedy is still alive today.

The Institutes Of Biblical Law – Reconstructionist Radio (Audiobook)

The Institutes Of Biblical Law – Reconstructionist Radio (Audiobook)

    by

    Since Apr 4, 2020 16:56 UTC

To attempt to study Scripture without studying its law is to deny it. To attempt to understand Western civilization apart from the impact of Biblical law within it and upon it is to seek a fictitious history and to reject twenty centuries and their progress. The Institutes of Biblical Law has as its purpose a reversal of the present trend. it is called “Institutes” in the older meaning of the that word, i.e., fundamental principles, here of law, because it is intended as a beginning, as an instituting consideration of that law which must govern society, and which shall govern society under God. To understand Biblical law, it is necessary to understand also certain basic characteristics of that law. In it, certain broad premises or principles are declared. These are declarations of basic law. The Ten Commandments give us such declarations. A second characteristic of Biblical law, is that the major portion of the law is case law, i.e., the illustration of the basic principle in terms of specific cases. These specific cases are often illustrations of the extent of the application of the law; that is, by citing a minimal type of case, the necessary jurisdictions of the law are revealed. The law, then, asserts principles and cites cases to develop the implications of those principles, with is purpose and direction the restitution of God’s order.
