This Used To Be The Place

    by

    Since Mar 22, 2018 03:09 UTC

This Used To Be The Place is a fiction podcast series exploring how New York City’s past collides with its present. Season One centers around Anna who, after emerging from her apartment for the first time in three days, finds a notebook with an intriguing list of names. Each episode, she tracks down one person on the list to try to determine how they’re all connected. Coming up with creative excuses, lies, and even schemes verging on criminal, Anna manages to insert herself into their lives in order to uncover their stories, or perhaps just to break the lonely monotony of her own life. As she ventures throughout New York, Anna discovers not only what the list means, but how the city isolates and connects us, and how the people who live here hide and reveal their secrets. Driven by a renewed sense of purpose as she investigates the list, Anna begins to move forward from a tragic past, navigating her struggles with mental health while dealing with the universal issues of finding your place in the world and coming to terms with who you are.

And let’s dive in. www.loriaandrus.com

“How good are you willing to feel?”

This is not always an easy question to answer . . . especially during times when life feels quite the opposite of good.

In a recent interview with Dr. Vanessa Sage, she shared that this is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves at this time.

As we sank into this soulful conversation I felt this question (that I’ve previously heard and said many times) in a new way. Something about it landed.

I think I had previously always focused on the word good, but in that moment I felt the significance of the word feel. It reverberated throughout my body . . . reminding me to be in my body, to honor it, and to feel good within it.

Throughout our conversation, Vanessa shared how this question has been a lighthouse for her over the years. She also shared how, in a recent journey deep within, this question not only reignited her passion life, but created a deep experiential understanding of what it means to be of service and live the mystery.

This conversation is rich and deep. Join us for this week’s episode of the Meet Me in Sacred Space as we sink in further.

Here are a couple things you can expect in this episode:

    – Why this question is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves at this time.
    – How this question plants a very needed seed of hope.
    – The value of turning how we really feel.
    – The power of pivoting and integrating change on the sacred path and in our business.
    – What service really means.
    – Living and understanding the mystery.
    – Giving self permission to speak boldly . . . to be both fierce and gentle.

    Empowering Women Physicians

    Empowering Women Physicians

    by

    Since Oct 6, 2018 21:43 UTC

Medicine is truly the most noble profession. It is an honor and a privilege to be responsible for the health and well being of our society. As physicians, we aim to relieve human suffering. Then why are so many of us unhappy, stressed, and even considering leaving medicine? Characteristics of self sacrifice and delayed gratification allowed women physicians to get through medical school and residency. Yet these very same traits can cause increasing distress and may no longer be serving us. This podcast encourages women physicians to reflect on the wise words of the Hippocratic Oath and consider what more they could be doing to maintain the utmost respect for their OWN human life and its quality. Women physicians are strong, intelligent, resilient, hard working, insightful, and live their lives in service of others. Through this podcast, Dr Sunny Smith reminds them that they must first care for themselves so that they may care for others. As a practicing physician and certified coach, she offers tools that can be used to help them take a closer look at their life right now, what they love and what they’d like to change. She helps physicians set goals and empowers them to take steps toward creating their best lives starting today.

    Basics of Sikhi Podcast

    Basics of Sikhi Podcast

    by

    Since Dec 7, 2020 10:00 UTC

Basics of Sikhi Podcast is a relaxed talk show about Sikhism (Sikhi) and topics related. Most discussions and learning about Sikhi take place in a formal setting like a Gurdwara (Sikh temple), by way of Punjabi speaking Parchariks (educators) speaking to the congregation. In recent years, many educators have taken to online platforms such as YouTube & Facebook to inspire, educate and spread the message of Sikhi to the world, in English. Our successful and popular YouTube channel, Basics of Sikhi (be sure to subscribe!) has been hugely appreciated as a new, interactive and modern way of learning about Sikhi, especially by the younger generation, some of which who cannot speak or understand Punjabi so much. In a similar way, this Podcast, hosted by Sukhdeep Singh (Sikh educator at Basics of Sikhi) and Karanveer Singh (Sikh volunteer), is continuing that innovation by bringing learning about Sikhi to an informal and relaxed platform in the form of this talk show podcast. Sukhdeep & Karanveer will invite different guests to the Podcast to discuss various topics directly and indirectly related to Sikhi e.g. Sikh history, traditions, fitness, nutrition, mental health, music and the list goes on!… We hope you enjoy this Podcast and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Women in Music with Millie Cotton

Women in Music with Millie Cotton

    by

    Since Sep 25, 2019 04:00 UTC

Women in Music is a podcast sharing the tales and careers of modern singular voices in music – they all just happen to be female.

Hosted by DJ Millie Cotton, WiM is an inclusive platform to elevate female voices by sharing the stories of acknowledged women. The podcast explores what it is they really do, how they got there and the day to day of getting it done. From artists to tour managers to sound engineers to merch managers, each episode is a frank conversation with great music makers and enablers about the industry.

After years of attending club nights run and played by men, Millie came across a DJ, who was a woman, and quickly realised her passion was a career possibility too. A few years on and Millie has DJ’ed for international brands like Youtube, Google, Conde Nast and Nike; warm up sets for Kelis, Post Malone and Pet Shop Boys and notorious London venues such as Village Underground, Concrete and Queen of Hoxton.

Had Millie realised that this career was an option, it’s likely she would have embarked on that journey from a much younger age and it was out of this frustration that Women In Music was born.

Having also previously had conversations with eminent artists Charli XCX, Jorja Smith and many others for magazines like Nylon, Wonderland and Rollacoaster, Women in Music is where Millie invites guests to share their career paths and experiences.

If you enjoy Women in Music, don’t forget to rate, review and subscribe.

Find Millie Cotton @millie_cotton and WiM @womeninmusicpodcast. All guests can be found in their various show notes.

    Thanks for listening!
