    My First Show

    My First Show

    by

    Since May 27, 2020 18:03 UTC

Like many of us, Eva grew up doing theater. She attended musical theater camp and loved Broadway musicals. While a true passion, Eva chose to pursue a career in politics. She began by working for the Gore campaign during the infamous 2000 presidential election. She then transitioned to journalism, spending five years with ABC News as an Assignment Editor and Coordinating Producer, where she covered 9/11, the Iraq War, the 2004 Presidential Election, the death of Pope John Paul II, amongst others.En route towards a successful lifetime career in news, Eva made the decision to follow her original, true passion. In 2005, she left her job at ABC News to pursue a life in the theater, as a producer. The decision to leave a steady job and start from scratch in a famously cutthroat industry was not an easy one. But it certainly paid off. Eva has amassed over 18 Broadway credits and three Tony Awards. And, last year, she had four Broadway shows running simultaneously at one point. Her success can, of course, be attributed to her hard work and tenacity, but also to returning to her first love, building on the passion generated from her formative experiences in the theater—her first shows. On each episode of My First Show, Eva speaks with a different luminary from the entertainment industry, framing the discussion around four questions:What was the first show you saw? What was the first show you were in?What was your first professional show?If you could be in any show, anywhere, at any time, what would it be?Through a lively and personal conversation, Eva explores each guest’s formative experiences, how ambitions became reality and what dream roles still remain.Part of the Broadway Podcast Network.

    Outnumbered

    Outnumbered

    by

    Since Jan 21, 2019 05:56 UTC

Join Audrey and Bonnie, homeschooling moms to a combined total of 19 children, as they explore the joyfully chaotic side of motherhood including managing your own expectations and parenting intentionally.

Whether sharing tips for loving your body after pregnancy, setting personal goals amidst the chaos of childrearing or troubleshooting potty training, these experienced moms bring both wisdom and hilarity to motherhood.

Welcome to Episode 185 of Outnumbered the Podcast. In today’s episode we’re interviewing Cindi Bailey about her experience with divorce. As you know, here at Outnumbered, we’re huge proponents of marriage and especially good, healthy marriages. We even have a whole series on it! So why would we bring on a guest to talk about divorce? It’s because we realize that marriage and the family are under attack! And so while our #1 intention for our own marriages and our deepest hope for each and every one of you is that your marriages last until “death do us part” we realize that your life has probably been touched by another couples’ divorce. Or you may be in the position of interacting with a child whose life has been changed forever by their parent’s divorce. And you may be feeling unequipped to help/comfort/council the person experiencing this terrible event.

We hope this interview with Cindi will give you insight into how to navigate a tricky or difficult situation.

    Antart Field/Works

    Antart Field/Works

    by

    Since Feb 12, 2021 14:30 UTC

For anthropologists and artists “doing fieldwork” in contemporary worlds, art can be much more than an object of investigation. Curation and creation through visual, audio, or performing arts are at the heart of their work, extending the established anthropological interest in writing as a medium of thought and knowledge sharing. This exhibition presents works by anthropologists and artists who break disciplinary boundaries, and whose practice foregrounds experimental, and open approaches to the theme “field/works”. This series is curated by Jen Clarke and Maxime Le Calvé. We intend to provide a new space for discussion around and across the thematic of the virtual exhibition “Field/Works”: https://antart.easaonline.org/ All members of ANTART (EASA) are all invited to attend. If you wish to participate in a particular talk with a short paper (5 minutes) which would resonate with the topic or — even better — with the artwork presented in that talk, please get in touch with us.
