Running With The Hounds [of the Lord]

Running With The Hounds [of the Lord]

    by

    Since May 17, 2020 20:42 UTC

Dominicans have often been jokingly referred to as the Hounds of the Lord. We are always on the hunt, always running after the Lord Jesus Christ who is Truth Himself. So what’s it like to be both a runner and a Hound of the Lord, a Dominican Friar? Running and the religious life present us with great avenues for discussing the spiritual life and how we can grow in relationship with Jesus Christ. Just like athletes we need to train our spirits and strengthen our spiritual muscles for the journey ahead so that we can gain the prize that awaits us: Heaven and union with Christ.

    Heart in a Drawer

    Heart in a Drawer

    by

    Since Mar 21, 2023 21:16 UTC

Welcome to Heart in a Drawer, a podcast for adult children of divorce.

No matter what age you were when your parents divorced, I know that the pain continues on and on. Whether you were very young, a teen, or even an adult at the time of their divorce, the underlying hurts are similar and long-lasting. They are probably affecting you in ways you don’t even realize.

I’m your host, Sarah Geringer, a wife and mom of three from southeast Missouri. I’m a child of divorce twice over, at ages 4 and 22. Married to another child of divorce for 20 years, I’m also a Christian author, speaker, blogger and artist who writes about finding peace in God’s Word at sarahgeringer.com.

For many years, it’s been my dream to minister to the unique hurts that adult children of divorce face. In this podcast, I’ll affirm your pain with my personal stories. I’ll also share guided meditations on scriptures that have helped me heal and find hope. In addition, I’ll share parts of Christian books that have helped me overcome my past hurts.

It’s an honor to minister to fellow adult children of divorce like you. So much material is produced for people who are divorcing and for young children and teens. Yet there is precious little for those of us suffering into our adult years.

My prayer is that through this podcast, you will find the healing and hope you seek in your relationship with God, your spouse, your children, and yes, even your parents.

    When Socrates Was An Architect

    by

    Since Jun 29, 2021 12:33 UTC

This small Q&A radio show is based on a fictional premise: Socrates was an intern at Eupalino’s architecture office in Lisbon, back in 450 bC. Having some trouble understanding his role, he started questioning everything, eventually leading to the socratic method. The show uses this now famed method to decompose the board question of the education of the architect. I will be asking your questions to a group of interested, interesting and inspiring people. Each show, a new question. Francisco Moura Veiga Principal at A FORSCHUNG (Basel, Switzerland), editor and founder of CARTHA Magazine, curator of Publishing in Architecture. Teaching and research assistant at the VOLUPTAS chair, in charge of the research into the intersections between gaming and architecture pedagogy.
