In this podcast we reference the time in which God delivers his people, Israel, from bondage in Egypt. During the last great plague that fell upon Egypt, God’s people kept the Feast of the Passover. The events and people during this time, are not mere moments in history, but hold great spiritual significance to us today and in the future. For this podcast, we introduce key symbols of Passover, depicting each symbol’s meaning and why it is relevant to our lives.

Each week one forced the other to watch a movie they love, but realize their partner may not. Allyson grew up with family friendly and endearing movies from the 80s and 90s, while Mike has a soft spot for questionable 80s and 90s horror/sci-fi and action. Mike is also a trivia nerd and dives deep into the background of each movie they discuss.

An episode-by-episode analysis of the anime series and films, in which I, Josh, try to convince my non-anime watching sister, Steph, that Hideaki Anno’s 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and subsequent films, End of Evangelion and the Rebuild of Evangelion series is one of the greatest compilations of modern art and media made in our lifetime.
Each podcast features a beat by beat review of two episodes of the series interspersed with our own cultural and media reference and critique. Josh is a full-time media producer (and occasional critic). Steph is a literary obsessive and librarian. Both of us have nearly 15 year old degrees in media studies. So we’re mega qualified to do this.
