The Center for Oral History (COH) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, in the Department of Ethnic Studies, was established in 1976 by the Hawaiʻi State Legislature. COH gathers the recollections of Native Hawaiians and the multi-ethnic people of Hawaiʻi about lifeways, key historic events, social movements and Hawaiʻi’s role in the globalizing world. Experience: Hawaiʻi Life Histories is our first podcast series in partnership with Hawaiʻi Public Radio and Hawaii Council for the Humanities featuring excerpts from our archive of over 800 interviews with Hawaiʻi women and men.
