You Can Miss Me With That!

    by

    Since Nov 1, 2018 15:30 UTC

The You Can Miss Me With That Podcast looks at society through a weird lens. A creation of Luther Okeyo, the goal of the podcast is for you to look at society the same way he does. Maybe you’ll think he’s opinionated, or maybe you’ll think he’s clueless. If you have some questions about the way everything works, or you just want to hear something new, this is the podcast for you. New episodes come out every Tuesday, just in time for Taco Tuesday. #YCMWT On this episode, Cori and I talk about the bizarre presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, preview the Vice Presidential Debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris, and we talk weddings, the what the lead up to the Presidential Election will look like and more.

I am your host, Andre Archimbaud. I am a musical omnivore. There is very little music I do not like.

That said, I think the greatest contribution to humanity that America has made is the pop music from the 1920s through early 1960s. It’s as if that era is the Rosetta Stone for all of pop culture.

You see, music – sound, really – came long before the frozen or moving image. So, it only makes sense that music would move us as a nation before photography, film or video would even come into the proverbial picture.

Whether it’s Fletcher Henderson, Charles Mingus or John Coltrane, this is the music of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It does withstand the test of time.

Look for weekly inclusions of Nat Cole & Johnny Hartman, too.

Season 3 As the international situation deteriorates, FDR faces multiple challenges: readying the country for war across two oceans, facing down the threats from Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, and attempting to rally political support at home. Americans are not convinced of the foreign threat. Many are still isolationists, seeking to let the world solve its own problems while America stands aloof. Public opinion seems to be changing, but it’s a gradual process. Will FDR be able to master these multiple crises? Will the American people rally behind him? Will the nation prepare in time to face one of the gravest threats in its history—or will all of FDR’s efforts be too late? Join The National WWII Museum for Season 3 of this limited series podcast as we explore America’s road to Pearl Harbor as seen through the eyes of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
