A podcast about women cheating, really?!?! Yes, that is exactly what my podcast is about. This is a controversial subject- taboo, if you will. Though infidelity has been around as long as sex has, people, men and women a like are capable of being unfaithful. Beginning with my own experience as an unfaithful wife, these women share their stories of why they were unfaithful to their spouse or partner. Though I do not condone cheating, I understand. All stories are always anonymous and without judgment. Many women have found this podcast supportive while working through their own infidelity as well as men that have been affected by female infidelity. Twice 5 Miles Radio is an hour-long interview show that digs beneath the surface with people who have much of value to say and the courage to say it in these uncertain times. The show’s title (Twice 5 Miles) comes Kubla Khan a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. My background: I received my MFA in writing from Vermont College and have memorized over 500 poems. I broadcast a weekly podcast on WPVM-FM titled On the Road with Twice 5 Miles Radio. I have taught writing, creativity, performance poetry, and public speaking around the globe, including a 10-day international school residency in Nouakchott, Mauritania. TMR started at the end of 2005 as a way for three old friends (from the Brandeis debate team) to keep in touch with each other. Nearly every week, we’d all log in to Teamspeak and shoot the breeze for hours and hours. At some point, some knucklehead starting recording and posting these conversations. The rest is history.

After writing about movies and TV on Woman in Revolt for 7+ years, I (Lindsay Pugh) decided to start a podcast. Every time I visit Jo Nesteruk, my BFF/mentor/fake mom, we spend the weekend watching movies and having great discussions. There is a 26 year age gap between us, so we often have different perspectives and points of reference, but always leave each conversation with a deeper appreciation for what we watched. On this podcast, you’ll hear us discuss films and TV shows made awesome, at least in part, because of women, whether they be actresses, writers, directors, costume or production designers, editors, cinematographers, etc. We aim to not only provide a thorough discussion with thoughtful analysis, but to spotlight women that might not be on your radar.
