Too many Christians are taught to not question religious authority, which means they are also taught to not question what they are being taught about their faith. Over the years, however, we are often given conflicting messages, which can lead to something called cognitive dissonance. We can’t actually alleviate this cognitive dissonance until we pull apart and question what we’ve been taught. In this podcast, I will deconstruct some of the most popular books in Christianity to expose some of the most harmful messages they actually contain. If you haven’t read the book, that’s okay!

Each episode brings to life people and events that were once known to everyone but are now barely remembered by anyone. Based on intensive original research, Forgotten Australia is crafted with a novelist’s eye for character and detail to create gripping narratives that sound so fresh it’s like they’re ripped from today’s headlines.

We chose play, joy every day

Affect Autism was created to help parents and practitioners apply the Developmental, Individual differences, Relationship-based (DIR) model to respectfully promote relating, communicating, and thinking in autistic children in order to invite out their highest potential. Research in neuroscience has supported a developmental approach over traditional behavioural approaches like Applied Behaviour Analysis. Affect Autism is more cost effective because it works with parents who apply the strategies that Floortime offers, promoting playful interactions over behaviour management techniques. DIR/Floortime respects where the child is developmentally, their individual sensory processing profiles, and uses the relationship to build trust and playfully challenge the child to relate, communicate and think, in order to invite them into a shared world where they can reach the potential they wish to realize.

The Global and Imperial History Research Seminar is chaired by Professor Judith Brown (Beit Professor of Commonwealth History), Professor John Darwin (Beit Lecturer of Commonwealth History), and Dr Jan-George Deutsch. The seminar meets each Friday afternoon during term, where a visiting, usually, scholar’s recent research is presented. Those present then engage with both the historical material and historiographical questions of the work. The following podcasts are presented as a means of continuing those discussions and as a resource to those unable to attend. The Global and Imperial History Research Seminar would like to thank each of their speakers for their cooperation in making these recordings available.

BingetownTV Podcast: Covering Your Favorite “Binge-Worthy” TV Shows!

BingetownTV Podcast: Covering Your Favorite “Binge-Worthy” TV Shows!

    by

    Since May 20, 2020 02:04 UTC

Welcome to Bingetown! We are a Top 100 Podcast covering your favorite “Binge-worthy” television shows! Believe it or not, BingetownTV was born in the heart of Iceland. It was the trip of a lifetime that included a Game of Thrones tour, midnight sunsets, and maybe (definitely) a bit too much Icelandic Eagle Gin. But when you have the chance to drink some gin made by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson AKA “The Mountain”, you don’t do so in moderation. It may have been the gin talking, but the idea to start a podcast was born. We could’ve let it die once we got back to the US, but instead turned our drunken boasts into action. In the past two years we’ve gone from recording on a couch with virtually no equipment to producing over 300 episodes covering over 30 TV shows (Including The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, 1899, Yellowjackets, The Boys, Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders, The Last Kingdom, Apple TV’s Severance, The Wheel of Time, Arcane, The Witcher, Dexter, Marvel’s What if…?, Midnight Mass, Loki, Rick & Morty, The OA, Wynonna Earp, Shadow & Bone, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, The Mandalorian, The Magicians, The 100, Carnival Row, The Haunting Anthology Series, The Starz Spartacus Series (plus so much more), and even interviewing several of their stars! Join the fun and “Binge With Us”!
