Chuck Mitchell thought he had everything -a high powered job, a beautiful girlfriend, an exclusive condo on the Toronto waterfront, but the death of his long-lost father plunges him in to a world he never knew existed. The world of White Trash Land. After inheriting a trailer park, Chuck’s normally staid life is suddenly filled with an ex-wrestler lawyer, an obsessed Reverend who covets the land the trailer park sits on, a band of Promised Ones who set out to appropriate the park by any means necessary, a corrupt mayor, an old alcoholic and two pretty lesbians who are not exactly as they seem, and a blue haired punk film student who can create miracle inventions out of trash. Not to mention a motorcycle gang, and the mother of a rap wunderkind.Stir in a bit of conspiracy, a bit of slapstick and a whole lot of Japanese Actuaries, and you have White Trash Land, written by Andrew Beatty and performed by Sean McGaughey. Find out more at whitetrashland.wordpress.com . This novel contains some adult language, adult situations and cartoon violence, so get over it.

“The kingdom” was the number one message Jesus would preach during the time of his earthly ministry. He couldn’t stop talking about it. The kingdom is like a lost coin, the kingdom is like a lost sheep, the kingdom is like a lost son. The kingdom is like a sower who went into a field. The kingdom is like a man who found a pearl of great price in a field and sold everything he had and went and bought the field. I think you get my point. The kingdom was one of Jesus’ main topics yet most Christians couldn’t tell you what it is if you asked them. Hence the “Kingdom Conversations” podcast was born! Join Pastor Caleb McCall for testimonies, conversations, interviews, teachings and preaching about and within “The Kingdom!” The interviews will tackle hard topics the church faces in today’s world with influential leaders from across the country.

Welcome to the podcast! ‘What happened to you?’ is dedicated to normalizing conversations about trauma using humor. My name is Sebastian and I do stand-up comedy about being molested as a kid. Laughing about my experience allowed me to begin processing and healing from what happened to me. Humor is an amazing gateway into deeper conversations and emotions. From child molestation to cancer to double parental suicide, talking about difficult topics in a lighthearted way makes them easier to deal with. Hope you enjoy these conversations as much as we do. Thanks for listening 🙂 Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sebastian-scales/support

Verdant Reports is an experiment in podcasting. We shall see how it goes. The aim is to produce short, interesting, audio for people around the world who think that animals exist for their purposes rather than for ours. Instead of half an hour of entertaining chatter, we will produce podcasts which are much shorter but worth the five minutes they take up. If we expect lots of people to listen, then it is worth someone spending time making it worth listening to. We will check facts. We will aspire to produce good journalism, covering different perspectives with balance and objectivity. We share values with our audience. We obviously object to needless violence to people. Less obviously, we object to needless violence to animals. All media have voices they do not include, and we do not include voices that advocate, say, eating meat. We aim to gather information and ideas for stories in conversation with the online community. We shall give it a try, and we shall see how it goes.
