From a cabin back in the mountains of Tennessee, forty-eight miles from the railroad, a young man went to the World War. He was untutored in the ways of the world. Caught by the enemy in the cove of a hill in the Forest of Argonne, he did not run; but sank into the bushes and single-handed fought a battalion of German machine gunners until he made them come down that hill to him with their hands in air. There were one hundred and thirty-two of them left, and he marched them, prisoners, into the American line. Marshal Foch, in decorating him, said, “What you did was the greatest thing accomplished by any private soldier of all of the armies of Europe.” His ancestors were cane-cutters and Indian fighters. Their lives were rich in the romance of adventure. They were men of strong hate and gentle love. His people have lived in the simplicity of the pioneer. This is not a war-story, but the tale of the making of a man. His ancestors were able to leave him but one legacy—an idea of American manhood. In the period that has elapsed since he came down from the mountains he has done three things—and any one of them would have marked him for distinction. (Summary by Sam Cowan)

A funny, creative, weird, and exciting podcast about everything and nothing that doesn’t make any sense. Hosted by brothers from separate mothers. That means not the same mothers. Not like they had lesbian mothers that are now separated, but like women from other family’s that gave birth to two different boys. Which really just means that they’re not really brothers at all, but close best friends. Christopher St. John and Jamie Nelson do they’re best imitation of two guys trying their best to entertain a podcast audience by entertaining each other with their signature original sense of humor.

Imagine you can hear a couple fighting – but you can’t see who’s raising their fists. How do you decide who’s in danger – is it the woman…or is it the man? The first full-length drama in 30 years to explore whether men can be victims of domestic abuse, “Tulips” is inspired by many true stories – including two celebrity court cases (those of Johnny Depp and Caroline Flack). This is a professionally-recorded full-cast adaptation of the stage play that was toured across the South East of England in 2019.

“In tradition of the ol Chicago House…” These are the mixes from the Foxxhole Radio show I do on Sirius Satellite channel 98. The focus of this podcast is to reflect on the soulful Chicago house music, that spirit filled music that takes you somewhere emotionally. It pays homage to the Chicago classics (Steve Hurley, Fast Eddie, Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Ten City, and more) as well as some of the new sounds on the soulful block of dance music. It’s music for the soul..The kind of tracks you’d hear back in the days that you cant seems to find anywhere nowadays. You’ll hear everything from classics to hard to find mixes as well as exclusive remixes from myself and some of my amazing friends in the business. Feel free to send me feedback, request and comments to djkellyg@gmail.com My prayer is that this music brings you the joy and happiness it brings me no matter what life throws my way. Escape with me. Enjoy the sounds as we go back to traditions…. the old landmark of Chicago House
