In a rugged corner of West Texas, billionaire wildcatters and roughnecks are fueling an oil boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics. This modern-day gold rush has sent both big oil companies and scrappy start-ups scrambling to secure a piece of the action. Texas Monthly’s Christian Wallace follows characters along every rung of the oil field ladder, from the executive cutting billion-dollar deals to the itinerant pipeline worker risking life and limb, and from the traveling exotic dancer following the trail of money to those who worry that our planet is on a path to destruction. Meet the people cashing in and those just trying to get by as the world around them is turned upside down. “A beautiful ride filled with levity, even as it delivers troubling forecasts for the future” – The Atlantic 2021 Webby Award Honoree, Podcast Documentary

Britain won the Moon Race! Decades before Neal Armstrong took his “giant leap for mankind” two intrepid adventurers from Lympne, England, journeyed there using not a rocket, but an antigravity coating. Mr. Bedford, who narrates the tale, tells of how he fell in with eccentric inventor Mr. Cavor, grew to believe in his researches, helped him build a sphere for traveling in space, and then partnered with him in an expedition to the Moon. What they found was fantastic! There was not only air and water, but the Moon was honeycombed with caverns and tunnels in which lived an advanced civilization of insect-like beings. While Bedford is frightened by them and bolts home, Cavor stays and is treated with great respect. So why didn’t Armstrong and later astronauts find the evidence of all this? Well, according to broadcasts by Cavor over the newly-discovered radio technology, he told the Selenites too much about mankind, and apparently, they removed the welcome mat! (Summary by Mark)

What I See is a global collection of women’s voices coming together to share, connect, and actively shape the narrative of what it means to be a woman. By asking the question ‘What do you see when you look in the mirror?’, the Project finds different ways for women to reflect on self-perceptions and female identity, and becomes a platform for them to add their voice. The bigger the overall voice, the more power we have to truly influence the issues that matter. Each month, we pick a particular topic that women have spoken about, and publish a podcast, twitter campaigns, and online debates on themes surrounding that topic in order to go deeper into what matters to women today. The Project provides a neutral platform for the Conversations in order to invite women’s thoughts and opinions freely and without judgement.
