    Basics of Sikhi Podcast

    Basics of Sikhi Podcast

    by

    Since Dec 7, 2020 10:00 UTC

Basics of Sikhi Podcast is a relaxed talk show about Sikhism (Sikhi) and topics related. Most discussions and learning about Sikhi take place in a formal setting like a Gurdwara (Sikh temple), by way of Punjabi speaking Parchariks (educators) speaking to the congregation. In recent years, many educators have taken to online platforms such as YouTube & Facebook to inspire, educate and spread the message of Sikhi to the world, in English. Our successful and popular YouTube channel, Basics of Sikhi (be sure to subscribe!) has been hugely appreciated as a new, interactive and modern way of learning about Sikhi, especially by the younger generation, some of which who cannot speak or understand Punjabi so much. In a similar way, this Podcast, hosted by Sukhdeep Singh (Sikh educator at Basics of Sikhi) and Karanveer Singh (Sikh volunteer), is continuing that innovation by bringing learning about Sikhi to an informal and relaxed platform in the form of this talk show podcast. Sukhdeep & Karanveer will invite different guests to the Podcast to discuss various topics directly and indirectly related to Sikhi e.g. Sikh history, traditions, fitness, nutrition, mental health, music and the list goes on!… We hope you enjoy this Podcast and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Out of Trouble

    Out of Trouble

    by

    Since Jun 3, 2020 20:00 UTC

Out of Trouble is a pattern interrupting podcast. “Pattern Interruption” can be anything you say or do that creates a disruption needed to refresh and refocus the mind. What you’ll hear is a collection of interviews, conversations, sounds, and occurrences— all narrated and bound together by a theme. By Nikolas Harter out of the land of San Francisco, Out of Trouble is meant to distract from the existential angst that descends upon us at night, or any time. This show is my audio blog. It showcases scenes from my life and life around me as I capture and create special moments. Whether it’s street interviews, intimate conversations with friends or family, or clips pulled off of the internet, I use my years of experience telling stories and editing audio to put together a thoughtfully crafted experience for you each week. My ultimate goals with this podcast is to know myself better, to become the best storyteller I can be, and to transform podcasting by inspiring other independent podcasters to try out narration and storytelling. I believe that podcasts will transform non-fiction, and broaden our perspectives of the world, by opening the door to experiences rarely heard in traditional media. Podcasting is an inherently intimate medium. TV cameras can’t go where audio recorders can go. This show explores that potential.

Woman Who Went to Alaska, A by SULLIVAN, May Kellogg

Woman Who Went to Alaska, A by SULLIVAN, May Kellogg

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

Alaska has only been a state since 1959, and the breathtaking terrain remains mostly unspoiled and natural. In modern times, many of us have had the pleasure of visiting Alaska via a luxurious cruise ship, where we enjoyed gourmet meals, amazing entertainment, and a climate-controlled environment. It’s easy to also book a land package that enables you to see more of the country by train.Imagine what it was like to visit the same wild, untamed countryside in 1899. Instead of boarding a sleek, stylish cruise ship, you travel for weeks on a steamer. You wait 2 weeks for the open, flat cars of the new railroad just to assure yourself it can travel safely through the dangerous mountain pass. No stately cabin or grand hotel awaits you at the end of your journey; you’ll spend your time in rough mining camps. Such is the case in May Kellogg Sullivan’s spellbinding and vivid account of her Alaskan adventures, which occurred over 18 months during 2 solo trips covering 12,000 miles. This is the perfect travel narrative to enjoy on your Alaskan cruise or in the comfort of your own home. (Introduction by Karen Commins)
