Heart of Darkness (version 2) by Joseph Conrad (1857 – 1924)

Heart of Darkness (version 2) by Joseph Conrad (1857 – 1924)

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

Heart of Darkness is a novella written by Joseph Conrad. Before its 1903 publication, it appeared as a three-part series (1899) in Blackwood’s Magazine. It was classified by the Modern Library website editors as one of the “100 best novels” and part of the Western canon. The story centres on Charles Marlow, who narrates most of the book. He is an Englishman who takes a foreign assignment from a Belgian trading company as a river-boat captain in Africa. Heart of Darkness exposes the dark side of European colonization while exploring the three levels of darkness that the protagonist, Marlow, encounters: the darkness of the Congo wilderness, the darkness of the Europeans’ cruel treatment of the African natives, and the unfathomable darkness within every human being for committing heinous acts of evil. Although Conrad does not give the name of the river, at the time of writing the Congo Free State, the location of the large and important Congo River, was a private colony of Belgium’s King Leopold II. In the story, Marlow is employed to transport ivory downriver. However, his more pressing assignment is to return Kurtz, another ivory trader, to civilization, in a cover-up. Kurtz has a reputation throughout the region. (Summary by Wikipedia)

    Who Killed Bob?

    Who Killed Bob?

    by

    Since Nov 28, 2021 14:00 UTC

Why was mild-mannered, middle aged Sue Neill-Fraser convicted of murdering her partner Bob Chappell on their yacht in January 2009? It was a circumstantial case – no body, no witnesses, no weapon and no confession. Sue has always maintained her innocence and is now in her 13th year of a 23 year sentence in a Tasmanian prison. Psychologist and film producer Eve Ash jumped in at the deep end and has meticulously dissected this case for 12 years in a search for the truth. When Eve was joined by former homicide task force detective Colin McLaren the twists and turns became frightening. For everyone who believes in justice, this podcast will be a shocking eye-opener about a case destined to be Australia’s worst wrongful conviction.

𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 – Sharing My Story As I Heal My Soul, Surrender into My Feminine Power, and Learn to Live Through Heart 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟱𝟬, I left a 27 year relationship and a 29 year career. I was confused, desperately alone, and dealing with a heartache full of pain. But the only thing more terrifying than the unknown of where I found myself, was the thought of staying where I had been. 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 that I couldn’t keep enduring for the sake of not hurting those that I loved. And so, for the first time ever, I chose me. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 with an unknown destination has turned into one of soul healing. Of letting go of those things that no longer bring me joy, and discovering my path and my purpose. Of stepping away from the masculine energy I had lived my life within, and surrendering into the beauty and the strength of the feminine power. Of learning to get out of my head and the stories that it told me, and to make each decision through heart. 𝗘𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 has brought me exactly what I needed; new friends, new lessons, new opportunities, and new passion and new purpose. 𝗜𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 I will share my thoughts, my stories, my knowledge, and my successes and my failings, so that you can laugh with me, cheer me on, share a tear or two with me, and perhaps also to learn and be inspired as I keep striving to live through heart. 𝗜 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝘄, and maybe sometimes controversial, and I hope that I will also bring you some thought-provoking moments. 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 that what I believe today will be what I believe next year, because what I think is possible is continuously being challenged, and I have realised that I can achieve far more than I ever dared to dream was possible. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 to help you continue to grow, to heal, and to challenge your beliefs systems, develop the skills and mindset to create your own brand of success, then this is a must for your subscriber list.
