    Signal from Noise

    Since Sep 24, 2019 18:24 UTC

Join applied language expert Charna Parkey, Ph.D. as she explores how the words we use often get in the way of good communication at work. We’ll be looking at the hard conversations: the ones that we avoid because we don’t have a shared language to even begin them. You’ll hear interviews with people like you, plus experts speaking to the nuance of approaching topics like racism, gender expression, mental health, and domestic violence. Along the way you’ll gain some shared language to start engaging in these conversations yourself, with linked resources available for every episode. We can change the way we communicate for the better—let’s find the signal in the noise.

    Since Aug 30, 2018 01:42 UTC

I’m a lover of jazz music and have spend the last 20 years digging through record crates at the record stores, yard sales, swap meets, etc, in the Los Angeles area, and want to share some of the great jazz I’ve discovered along the way. Most episodes are focused on a single jazz artist, some are focused on various jazz styles, to point others in the right direction when it comes to finding out about great jazz

Truth Still Matters (From the Heart of a Catholic)

Truth Still Matters (From the Heart of a Catholic)

    by

    Since Jul 23, 2013 07:07 UTC

Welcome to the Catholic podcast “Truth Still Matters”. The human person is made for truth despite this “dictatorship of relativism” (Pope Benedict XVI) we breathe every day. This podcast exists in the stream of the New Evangelization championed by Pope John Paul the Great and continued with Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. We will have the opportunity to learn and reflect on the timeless truths revealed by God and deposited in the Church. If you’re looking for apologetics or theology that can be applied to your life, right now, you’ve found a new home. Stop drowning in the world of opinion. Truth Still Matters.

Finn, Again, The Later Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Finn, Again, The Later Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

    Since Nov 6, 2009 00:32 UTC

Still a rascal and a wanderer, Huck Finn, now nearing thirty, narrowly escapes a shotgun wedding, outwits a crafty Treasury Agent bent on connecting him with the killing of President Lincoln, meets up with Tom Sawyer and his old river pal Jim, executes a clever con in saloons across Nebraska, and explores the American Frontier with a traveling band of Shakespearean actors. Along the way our free-spirited hero falls head-over-heels for an English heiress, gets involved in a series of brawls, survives a gun battle, has a run-in with a poisonous snake, builds a raft, almost drowns, survives a San Francisco earthquake, and is forced to disguise himself as a woman. All this in an effort to catch a boat to Australia to prospect for opals “as big as your thumb.”

A Galaxy Far Far Away: A Star Wars history podcast

A Galaxy Far Far Away: A Star Wars history podcast

    by

    Since Nov 27, 2019 17:00 UTC

A podcast telling the stories of the entire history of the Star Wars galaxy from the discovery of the Force and the founding of the first Republic over a millenia before the Battle of Yavin up to where the story is now. Hopefully this podcast will be perfect for people like me who are passionate about Star Wars and always curious to dig deeper into background information and context. What happened at the Battle of Tanaab that Lando casually mentions in Return of the Jedi? Why does Yoda say there are always only two Sith, no more no less? Who are the Guardians of the Whills that are talked about in Rogue One? You will discover the answers to these questions and infinitely more if you take this journey with me.
