    Unfiltered: Afghan, not Dewana

    Unfiltered: Afghan, not Dewana

    by

    Since Feb 5, 2022 14:00 UTC

“Unfiltered: Afghan, not Dewana,” is a podcast that focuses on raising mental health awareness in Afghan communities and societies. Often, when we tell other Afghans or even our parents that we are “depressed” or “sad”, the word “dewana” gets thrown back at us. Dewana translates to “crazy” in Dari and each episode will help you better understand that feeling sad and depressed does not mean we are crazy. My mission is twofold: breaking cultural barriers around mental health discussions, fostering better communication amongst Afghans, and amplifying Afghan voices worldwide. Each episode brings unique guests, encouraging open conversations and sharing stories to foster empathy and unity, as well as some solo episodes. Let’s embrace vulnerability, shatter boundaries, and make a difference as the proud, resilient Afghans we are. Email me at medinamua18@gmail.com with topic ideas or questions. Together, we’ll grow and heal. Together, my #notdewana family we will make our culture even more beautiful than it already is.

    Artist Decoded

    Artist Decoded

    by

    Since Sep 3, 2015 04:47 UTC

“I started this series as a means for exploration, an exploration of self, and an exploration of the perspectives of other artists. This series is an unabridged documentation of conversations between artists. It’s a series dedicated to breaking down the barriers we tend to set up in our own minds. I want to inspire future creatives to have the courage to explore and experiment. This is about making dreams a reality and not about letting our dreams fall to the wayside. My intention is to give my audience a sense of real human connection, something that feels rich and organic. When I was thinking of a title I thought of the word “movement”. In relation to the Renaissance period in art, my goal for this program is to signify a rebirth of consciousness towards the way we look at contemporary art.” – Yoshino (@yoshinostudios)

    The Way of Jesus Podcast

    The Way of Jesus Podcast

    by

    Since Jul 13, 2020 08:00 UTC

Something has happened to the simple, yet radical and profound movement started 2,000 years ago by a Jewish carpenter from Nazareth. A movement that appeared to be dead on arrival with Jesus’ crucifixion in only a matter of days became a movement that would change the entire Roman Empire in the span of just 300 years. But, as we look at the world around us, has this movement that began as a roar become only a whimper of everything Jesus intended? Is what we see today the same movement that swept across nations, that shaped history, and for which countless faithful have given everything, even their own lives? It cannot be. There has to be more. In The Way of Jesus, author and pastor Mike Megginson invites readers on a journey to take a deeper look at what it truly means to be a Christian—calling believers away from settling for mere “Churchianity” to embracing the ancient, authentic, revolutionary Christianity rooted and grounded in the wildness and wonder of the person of Jesus. Mike Megginson is one of the founding pastors of 3Circle Church in Fairhope, Ala., where he currently serves as an associate pastor and director of the church’s pastoral care and local missions ministry. With more than 35 years of ministry experience, Mike is passionate about equipping the local church for missions and discipleship. Most recently, Mike and his wife, Sally, spent two years as full-time missionaries in Costa Rica where Mike served as an advisor and elder for Iglesia Casa Vida in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. It was on the mission field in Costa Rica where Mike’s first book found its way from pen to paper.
