Five Lectures on Blindness by FOLEY, Kate M.

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

The [five] lectures were written primarily to be delivered at the summer sessions of the University of California, at Berkeley and at Los Angeles, in the summer of 1918. . . they are the outgrowth of almost a quarter of a century spent in work for the blind, and were written from the standpoint of a blind person, seeking to better the condition of the blind. They were addressed not to the blind, but to the seeing public, for the benefit that will accrue to the blind from a better understanding of their problems. (Extract from the Forward by Milton J. Ferguson)

Everybody has a favourite film, but what about the worst thing you’ve ever seen? The movie that boils your blood, assaults your eardrums, and just generally makes you lose the will to live. Each week we subject ourselves to our guest’s least favourite film and then wonder why we did that. We’re on a mission to find the worst movie ever. A Shout from the Long Grass

    by

    Since Dec 4, 2018 00:35 UTC

At dawn on the 25th of October 1878, a search party of four Victoria policemen rode out of Mansfield in north east Victoria to find and arrest Ned Kelly. They would not all return. ‘A Shout from the Long Grass – The Police Murders at Stringybark Creek’ is a podcast from Victoria Police that tells the story of one of the deadliest attacks ever on police in Victoria, and one of the most infamous chapters in Australian history. Narrated by Ralph Stavely. Original music by the Victoria Police Band. McIntyre finally found help after a gruelling 22 hour trek through the bush. Despite his injuries, he immediately rode out with a second search party to recover the bodies of Lonigan and Scanlan. The fate of Sergeant Kennedy was still unknown.

In 2000 I had a near-death experience. I was never religious or spiritual, but that moment changed my whole life. I saw what our normal eyes cannot see. I felt the cosmos as you cannot feel it when you are in your body. And that was the impetus for a beautiful journey to myself. I have researched, I have learned, I have tried and I have experienced many exciting things. And, I have begun to train my perception so that I can experience again and again what I experienced in near-death. This approach has become the key to my work, and from it books, podcasts and lectures have emerged. Follow me to yourself.
