    In Good Company

    by

    Since Aug 4, 2020 12:00 UTC

The drama onstage is nothing compared to what’s happening behind the scenes in this original episodic series. Bay City Theatre Artistic Director Lola Grant is performing the ultimate balancing act: running a small, LGBTQ+ theatre during a pandemic, keeping her family together, and producing a new play- that’s still missing an ending. A new kind of podcast for a different kind of world, New Conservatory Theatre Center’s “In Good Company” is a love letter to the resilience of art, artists, and the places they call “home”. New Conservatory Theatre Center is San Francisco’s premier non-profit Queer and Allied theatre since 1981. Please consider donating at NCTCSF.ORG to support this work and additional programming while our theatre doors are closed.

Does the state of the world often leave you frightened? Does Bible prophecy often leave you confused? You’re not alone. There are some strange and mystifying Bible passages that have bewildered generations of Christ- followers simply because the signs of the end times had not become apparent. It is our generation that is seeing end-time prophecies being fulfilled. Join NY Times Bestselling Author Donna VanLiere (The Christmas Shoes, The Time of Jacob’s Trouble) and Carmen LaBerge (host of Mornings with Carmen on Faith Radio) and listen to the podcast Things Are Looking Up, in which they shares significant and specific prophecies that only our generation has been able to understand, and discuss the very real connection between Bible prophecy and our world today.

    Communist Manifesto (version 2), The by Friedrich Engels (1820 – 1895) and Karl Marx (1818 – 1883)

    Communist Manifesto (version 2), The by Friedrich Engels (1820 – 1895) and Karl Marx (1818 – 1883)

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

The Communist Manifesto was conceived as an outline of the basic beliefs of the Communist movement. The authors believed that the European Powers were universally afraid of the nascent movement, and were condemning as “communist,” people or activities that did not actually conform to what the Communists believed. This Manifesto, then, became a manual for their beliefs. In it we find Marx and Engel’s rehearsal of the idea that Capital has stolen away the work of the artisan and peasant by building up factories to produce goods cheaply. The efficiency of Capital depends, then, on the wage laborers who staff the factories and how little they will accept in order to have work. This concentrates power and money in a Bourgeois class that profits from the disunity of workers (Proletarians), who only receive a subsistence wage.If workers unite in a class struggle against the bourgeois, using riot and strikes as weapons, they will eventually overthrow the bourgeois and replace them as a ruling class. Communists further believe in and lay out a system of reforms to transform into a classless, stateless society, thus distinguishing themselves from various flavors of Socialism, which would be content to have workers remain the ruling class after the revolution. The Manifesto caused a huge amount of discussion for its support for a forcible overthrow of the existing politics and society. (Summary by Mark F. Smith)

    by

    Since Oct 13, 2020 14:23 UTC

Kathy Buckworth & Evelyn Brindle host the Stories from the Green Bench podcast, a virtual place to share, learn, grow, laugh and more in conversations with her co-host and a variety of guests. The Green Bench is a symbol of elder wisdom. Physically or virtually, the bench invites us all to sit alongside a senior, share a conversation, or give and offer advice. It challenges the stigma seniors face; the ageism still so prevalent in society. It reminds us of the wealth of wisdom our elders offer and in doing so, helps restore them to a place of reverence. ”The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders.” -Ron Schlegel Your seat on the green bench is ready and waiting.
