A Podcast about the Bible
Every two weeks, from two different countries, the two hosts of the Two Texts podcast pick two biblical texts to talk about.
Dr John Andrews and Dr David Harvey share a mutual fascination with the Bible. Simple yet complex; ancient yet relevant; challenging yet comforting. But one thing that fascinates them consistently is that, like a kaleidoscope, no matter how many times they look at it there is something new, fresh and exciting to talk about.
This podcast is designed for you regardless of how much or how little you’ve read the Bible. Grab a hot beverage, a notepad (or app), and a Bible, sit back, listen, enjoy, and learn to also become fascinated (or grow your fascination) with this exciting, compelling and mysterious book.
John and David are two friends who love teaching the Bible and have both been privileged enough to be able to spend their careers doing this – in colleges, universities, churches, homes and coffee shops. The two of them have spent extended periods of time as teaching staff and leadership in seminary and church contexts. John has regularly taught at David’s church, and there was even a point where John was David’s boss!
Nowadays David is a Teaching Pastor in Calgary, Canada, and John teaches and consults for churches in the UK and around the world. They’re both married with children (John 3, David 1) and in John’s case even a grandchild. In their down time you’ll find them cooking, reading, running or watching football (but the one thing they don’t agree on is which team to support).
If you want to get in touch with either of them about something in the podcast you can reach out on podcast@twotexts.com or by liking and following the Two Texts podcast on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you enjoy the podcast, we’d love it if you left a review or comment where you’re listening from – and if you really enjoyed it, why not share it with a friend?

This speech was given March 23, 1775, at St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia, and is credited with having singlehandedly convinced the Virginia House of Burgesses to pass a resolution delivering the Virginia troops to the Revolutionary War. In attendance were Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Reportedly, the crowd, upon hearing the speech, jumped up and shouted, “To Arms! To Arms!” More great books at LoyalBooks.com

I don’t do lunch is the product of two black women coming together and discussing common issues that arise when building a brand. How did you get past ___? Don’t you hate it when ___? Can you believe this girl asked me ___? Janae Wheeler and Ayishia Parsley’s vent sessions ultimately turned into a collaborative effort that they felt needed to be shared with other girl bosses; particularly women of color. Having a “business bestie” has had the greatest impact on both of our brands.

Robert W. Chambers (1865-1933) studied art in Paris in the late 80’s and early 90’s, where his work was displayed at the Salon. However, shortly after returning to America, he decided to spend his time in writing. He became popular as the writer of a number of romantic novels, but is now best known as the author of “The King In Yellow”. This is a collection of the first half of this work of short stories which have an eerie, other-worldly feel to it; but the stories in the second half are essentially love stories, strongly coloured by the author’s life as an artist in France. Only the first half of the collection of stories is presented here: the earlier stories are all coloured by the background presence of a play, “The King In Yellow” itself, which corrupts those who read it, and opens them to horrible experiences and to visions of a ghastly other world, lit by dark stars and distorted skies. This half of the collection is completed by a few very short pieces and two rather strange and beautiful stories of love and time, loneliness and death.

So I started this really awesome storytelling podcast in honor of my late grandma, its uplifts the stories, identities and lifestyle of Black and POC (people of color) folks around the United States. It is an inclusive storytelling platform for topics on community & empowerment , just a place to get healing and connect. Storytelling is a Afro indigenous and indigenous tradition or testimony which teaches how to move through our past, present and future experiences.
