    My Food Job Rocks!

    by

    Since Jun 12, 2016 15:04 UTC

There is very little awareness of what the people in the food industry actually do. This stems back to the lack of knowledge and awareness of the range of degree courses and programs available that will equip them for a career in food. My FoodJobRocks! by Adam Yee is the first podcast of its kind that allows listeners to hear directly from people who are in the food industry and have a passion for what they do. They share how they became involved in food and describe what it is they do, plus a few more fun questions just to keep things entertaining. Listen to them here, and stay tuned for a new episode every Monday.

Follow a tech startup on its journey from nascent idea to embryonic product, to triumphant launch.

“Launch” follows Rob Walling and Derrick Reimer as they take email marketing startup Drip from the first days of inception through the agonizing months of writing code, talking to customers, and the never-ending uncertainty of whether anyone will ever use what they are building.

From the honeymoon period of “green field” development to the sleepless nights of database failures, “Launch” captures the often underplayed, but very real angst of building a startup.

Compiled and edited from dozens of conversations captured over a 9-month period, this 2-hour audio documentary serves as a dose of reality to the often mythical media portrayal of the startup journey.

It means you’re going to learn things you didn’t know about sports and entertainment figures you do know. And it means you’re going to hear conversations unlike anything you’ve heard before. That’s our promise to you. And that’s Can You Keep a Secret?

Master the 40: The Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald

Master the 40: The Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald

    by

    Since Aug 1, 2020 12:00 UTC

In 1929 F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote Ernest Hemingway that because his short stories now earned $4000 a pop he was “an old whore” who had “mastered the 40 positions” when “in her youth one was enough.” But were the upwards of 180 stories he cranked out when not writing The Great Gatsby really the work of a literary prostitute selling out his talent for a fast buck? Kirk Curnutt and Robert Trogdon don’t think so. Each episode they draw a random title from a hat and explore its place in Fitzgerald’s career, in the magazines such as the Saturday Evening Post or Esquire where it may have appeared, and in the overall development of the American short story. Along the way, they talk literary politics, history, and gossip from the 1920s and 1930s, rediscovering the lively personalities and rivalries that tried to define the porous boundaries between commercial and artistic fiction, between the popular and the avant-garde, between the forgotten and the canonized.

My Humble Diatribe for the Day

My Humble Diatribe for the Day

    by

    Since Apr 21, 2020 21:36 UTC

Hello! My name is Paul Bennett and this is My Humble Diatribe for the Day. Every so often something gets my goat – somewhere along the spectrum from somewhat intriguing, mildly annoying, through somewhat irksome, to downright pissing me off! Such occasions can precipitate profound cogitation and extensive pontification on on my part. It occurred to me that others might benefit from the valuable insights such lucid volubility may give rise to on such occasions. With ‘My Humble Diatribe for the Day’ I shall attempt to capture the essence of such moments with a Canadian eye, hopefully for your edification and amusement. Be warned that my tongue may possibly be in cheek (though not in check!) and that the occasional pun could slip into my offerings. Subjects will hopefully be light-hearted, though more serious matter may occasionally intrude. May the fun prevail! That said, please sit back, relax, and enjoy My Humble Diatribe for the Day.
