Zadig, ou La Destinée, (“Zadig, or The Book of Fate”) (1747) is a famous novel written by the French Enlightenment philosopher Voltaire. It tells the story of Zadig, a philosopher in ancient Babylonia. The author does not attempt any historical accuracy, and some of the problems Zadig faces are thinly disguised references to social and political problems of Voltaire’s own day.The book is philosophical in nature, and presents human life as in the hands of a destiny beyond human control. It is a story of religious and metaphysical orthodoxy, both of which Voltaire challenges with his presentation of the moral revolution taking place in Zadig himself. Voltaire’s skillful use of the literary devices of contradiction and juxtaposition are shown in beautiful form in this prose. Behind Candide, it is considered one of his most celebrated works.

Started in 2019, “Getting Ignorant With It” was born from the perceived differences between its hosts, comedienne Shonda Nicole and critic Amari Allah. However, through conversations about the latest in movies, television, and pop culture, as well as topics such as family, trauma, and life, there was understanding, empathy, and commonality discovered. But, often, it’s just a slew of inappropriate jokes, anecdotes, and our hosts being/getting ignorant.

Square adding Bitcoin on their Balance sheet? It’s Probably Something… Visa buying a CryptoPunk? It’s Probably Something… Facebook changing their name to Meta? It’s Probably….you get the point. The Crytpo/NFT community has an inside joke where they like to say “It’s Probably Nothing” and unless you’re in the community you may not get the joke, so I decided to put a little spin on it and make it as obvious as possible. The world is changing and you should be paying attention. I will have guests sometimes, and there will be discussions on stock, crypto, NFTs, and other things.
