That That Don’t Kill Me is a series of non-inspirational, honest and casual conversations about health, illness and disability between two uncourageous young adults who were born #sick. Co-hosts Kendall Ciesemier and Jameson Rich mine their trauma to cover everything from dating when you can’t drink or hooking up when you have scars, to disclosing illness to co-workers, what it’s like to grow up in a hospital, and the day-to-day minutiae of navigating the healthcare system. It was Easter eve and I, Betty Holman, had heard my Mama and Grandmother have a conversation about cancer and got worried. I decided to tell the whole family on Easter about Grandmother having cancer, except she didn’t. Grandmother reveals her friend is the one who has cancer. The next day Me, Mama, and Grandmother go to the hospital to visit the friend. I learned to not make assumptions about situations without knowing the facts. Once we learn their friend is cancer free, we decide to go get ice cream.
