    Bassomatic: daily experimental bass podcast

    Bassomatic: daily experimental bass podcast

    Since Dec 31, 2006 23:00 UTC

It has been more than ten years since the first zand o matic bass guitar podcast, let’s try something again but with a few extra comments! Once again the same crappy sound, only and only bass for my part, the same unfinished and unedited grooves as I recorded them on my looper(s), using my old basses, my plethora of effects, and just use some rythm sections I can find here or there. There may be some surprises regarding this podcast in the near future. Yeehaaa! Just another abstract way to loose some time both for you and me! One more thing, this audio file will present three complementary grooves played alone, then the same ones in all combinations with a single drum track.

    Jew Talkin’ To Me?

    Jew Talkin’ To Me?

    by

    Since Jun 26, 2020 05:00 UTC

An unashamedly Jewish comedy chat show where all are welcome!

Jew Talkin’ To Me? is hosted by award winning comedians, Rachel Creeger and Philip Simon, and produced by Russell Balkind. Each show features two guests from the entertainment industry sharing their views on a variety of topics connected to modern Jewish life in a secular world, as well as their memories of growing up Jewish.

Both Philip and Rachel are well known as Jewish comedians on both the mainstream and community circuit and our guest list includes stand-up comedians, presenters, broadcasters, journalists and writers who are Jewish, have some Jewish heritage, or a Jewish connection.

Philip and Rachel have been collaborating for a few years, but who are we as individuals?

    Philip Simon

WINNER of the Jewish Comedian of the Year 2015

WINNER of the Lastminute Comedy Comedian of the Year 2015

As a stand up Philip gigs throughout the UK, as well having performed as far flung places as America, Scandinavia, Europe, The Middle East and New Zealand. He is MC and curator of the Edinburgh Fringe’s cult hit show Jew-O-Rama where Jewish and Jew”ish” acts perform to a mainly non-Jewish audience in packed out rooms each year. He is also resident compere at Borehamwood Comedy Club, works on panels shows including Mock the Week and Taskmaster and has been featured on BBC R2 and BBC 3CR, as well as acting in TV sitcoms such as My Family.

    Rachel Creeger

WINNER Most Audience Recommended Show Camden Fringe 2012

WINNER Best Comedy Award Greater Manchester Fringe 2017

Rachel is the only practising orthodox Jewish woman on the UK comedy circuit and has attracted a big following outside of her community who are interested in a unique, accessible voice from an unlikely source. Her debut solo show ‘It’s No Job For A Nice Jewish Girl’ had a sell-out Edinburgh run in 2017, followed by tours of the UK and Israel. She’s now meant to be touring her 5* show, ‘Hinayni! but, you know, the ‘rona’. Rachel is the host of Central London’s spectacular annual event Chanukah in the Square and resident MC of comedy club Upstairs at the Adam & Eve. As heard on BBC Radio London (regular guest) BBC R2, BBC Ouch and BBC 3CR. She is also an award winning director and critically acclaimed playwright.

    Since Jul 21, 2019 23:00 UTC

The official podcast of Sport Integrity Australia. Our mission is to protect the integrity of sport and the health and welfare of those who participate in Australian sport. This podcast examines the issues that affect sport, answers your questions and educates you about clean and fair sport.

Between them, there are too many Paralympic medals to count – but the Commonwealth Games will be a unique experience for both Ellie Cole and Daniela Di Toro, for vastly different reasons. In this episode of On Side, join Tim Gavel as he chats to Ellie and Daniela as they train for the Commonwealth Games which starts on 28 July – one for the last time, the other the first. Ellie, who has six Paralympic gold medals in her trophy cabinet, races for the final time in Birmingham, chasing that elusive Commonwealth Games gold medal. “In my swimming career, over 17 years, I’ve won 17 Paralympic medals, broken something like five world records and I still can’t seem to grasp the Commonwealth Games gold medal … it’s the only thing that’s missing from my trophy cabinet.” It has been a long road for the swimmer, who is thrilled at the progress Para sport has made over the past 17 years and the acceptance of Para athletes in the community. “The biggest difference that I’ve seen in Paralympic sport is the stigma around athletes with a disability,” Eliie says. “I saw at the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast that young kids were asking how to be Paralympians when they were older, and they were drawing pictures of people in wheelchairs on gold medal podiums. So they’re drawing the parallel that you can still have a disability and be a champion. Whereas in 2006, you know, that conclusion was never drawn from seeing someone with a disability.” With retirement looming, Ellie also discussed her life after swimming, which includes her role on Sport Integrity Australia’s Athlete Advisory Group. “We have a lot to offer to Sport Integrity Australia as athletes, and it’s wonderful to also be the other side of the coin, see that they’re willing to listen and wanting to understand firsthand experiences from us as well.” By her own admission, it’s been a long time since Daniela has been called a “rookie”, having made her Paralympic Games debut in Atlanta in 1996. After all, as a wheelchair tennis player, she has won almost all there is to win in her sport: from Paralympic medals to Grand Slam titles to a number-one world ranking. Now competing as a wheelchair table tennis player, it will be the Victorian veteran’s first time at the Commonwealth Games. “To be able to have a rookie experience is a really cool thing. So, you know, it’s really exciting as well, the actual newness of it. I’ve never been on a team with able bodied and Para high performance athletes, so it’s incredibly exciting,” she says. “It’s the friendly games, which is really cool that you can kind get to be in this kind of environment that’s super ultra-competitive, but there’s real awareness of community and connection and I’m looking forward to that as well.” While she may be a senior member of the team, just don’t call her the “mother-figure” – she’d prefer to be that “cool Aunty”.
