    Cultivate Church

    Cultivate Church

    by

    Since Aug 15, 2019 14:00 UTC

Cultivate was born in the hearts of our pastors around the year 2007. While working on staff of a local church together they dreamed of what Cultivate is today. In 2010 they both began to feel the time was right to begin preparations, so the process began. The next two years would be filled with prayer, fund-raising, and development of systems, structure, and the foundation of Cultivate. Then in July 2011 both families moved to Shelby County Alabama to begin building a launch team. They held interest meetings in hotels and held Sunday night gatherings in their home. They also began working with the Association of Related Churches as a partnership for Cultivate. On January 8 2012, Cultivate launched at Thompson High School as a portable church. For the next two years a team of people would spend their Saturday nights transforming a high school into a worship space, and Sunday’s serving others and loading everything back into trailers. After two years as a portable church, Cultivate moved into a non-portable facility in January 2014. In April of the same year, we expanded to two worship experiences. Cultivate would then expand to three worship experiences in March 2016. In January 2018 Cultivate launches our first campus in Columbiana, AL. The campus will feature live teaching and a mirrored experience to Alabaster. It would be an honor to have you as our guest. For more information visit us at www.cultivatechurch.tv

Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616)

Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616)

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

The Life of Timon of Athens is a play by William Shakespeare about the fortunes of an Athenian named Timon (and probably influenced by the philosopher of the same name, as well), generally regarded as one of his most obscure and difficult works. Originally grouped with the tragedies, it is generally considered such, but some scholars group it with the problem plays. The play has caused considerable debate among scholars. It is oddly constructed, with several lacunae (gaps) and for this reason is often described as unfinished, multi-authored, and/or experimental. No precise date of composition can be given and, while most place it as close but prior to the late romances, theories posited have ranged broadly from Shakespeare’s first work to his last. It is usually grouped with the tragedies (as in the First Folio), though some scholars have placed it with the problem comedies despite the death of its title character. Source material includes Plutarch’s “Life of Alcibiades” and Lucian’s dialogue, Timon the Misanthrope. The play had not been published prior to its inclusion in the First Folio (1623).
