    Bridge to Being

    Bridge to Being

    by

    Since Dec 31, 2017 17:19 UTC

Welcome to the intersection of creativity and spirituality, a pilgrimage through time and space with Lobsterbird. Here, entrepreneurship is a holistic spiritual path, where travel, art, energy, and healing weave together, creating a space for presence, inspiration, and transcendence – a Bridge to Being. Welcome to the state that exists between worlds. Cultural anthropologist Victor Turner calls it liminality, where one thing is in a state of transitioning: “Liminal entities are neither here nor there; they are betwixt and between.” Buddhists have the Bardo. Catholics have Purgatory. As a lobsterbird (½ lobster, ½ bird, ½ Asian, ½ Western, ½ a dweller in this society, ½ time spent in creative realms of flow), I live in and embody this state. In fact, I believe we, as humans, are the bridge between the earth and the heavens, and it is through our acts of creativity that we manifest this glorious world of forms. In this podcast, I explore this multitude of forms, taking you along on my own adventures through space, exploring the transitions where we can rest and find something out about our true nature.

Overweighted: Lose Weight Without a Diet, Eat What You Want, Be More Consistent

    by

    Since Feb 1, 2022 14:28 UTC

Have you been stuck in a ”lose weight and gain it back” cycle? Do you have a bunch of smaller sized clothes tucked away in your closet waiting for ”that day” that you can finally fit in them again? Are you the heaviest weight that you’ve ever been? Me too, sis. You are not alone and the Overweighted podcast is for you. Listen each week as I shed some light on what it takes to actually lose weight in a simple, successful, and sustainable way. That means, it won’t be complicated (aka no diets or cutting out food groups). We’re actually going to lose weight together (and feel good in our bodies). And this time, we’re going to keep it off (thank you Jesus). We’ll talk practical weight loss tips, rewriting those negative thoughts in your head, and I’ll even share some Biblical principles that support your weight loss efforts and honor God. Get ready to be inspired, renewed, and transformed so that you can get out of that cycle and into those clothes. Let’s mark “lose weight” off of our to-do lists for good!

    Eavesdropping at the Movies

    Eavesdropping at the Movies

    by

    Since Aug 22, 2017 19:33 UTC

“I have this romantic idea of the movies as a conjunction of place, people and experiences, all different for each of us, a context in which individual and separate beings try to commune, where the individual experience overlaps with the communal and where that overlapping is demarcated by how we measure the differing responses between ourselves and the rest of the audience: do they laugh when we don’t (and what does that mean?); are they moved when we feel like laughing (and what does that say about me or the others) etc. The idea behind this podcast is to satiate the urge I sometimes have when I see a movie alone – to eavesdrop on what others say. What do they think? How does their experience compare to mine? Snippets are overhead as one leaves the cinema and are often food for thought. A longer snippet of such an experience is what I hope to provide: it’s two friends chatting immediately after a movie. It’s unrehearsed, meandering, slightly convoluted, certainly enthusiastic, and well informed, if not necessarily on all aspects a particular work gives rise to, certainly in terms of knowledge of cinema in general and considerable experience of watching different types of movies and watching movies in different types of ways. It’s not a review. It’s a conversation.” – José Arroyo. “I just like the sound of my own voice.” – Michael Glass.
