Welcome back to the Archaeology Fantasies Podcast!
February is Lovecraft Month, because I like Cthulhu and Lovecraft’s impact on pseudoarchaeology.
Today I’m looking at how and why Lovecraft used archeology in his stories to create suspense and horror. I’m also contrasting him to one of his contemporaries, M.R. James, and how James used archeology in his own ghost stories. How were these two writers similar and how were they different, and How major was their impact on modern horror and ghost stories?
