    by

    Since Nov 5, 2021 19:49 UTC

The “Guerrilla Pastors” is a podcast chronicling young ministers shifting from “traditional” church ministry to a subversive pastoral presence. Instead of attraction models hinging on cults of personalities we focus on humbler approaches founded on neighborhood presence. Forsaking church growth metrics we will focus instead on fostering authentic relationships. Join us as we discuss our journey through deconstruction to reconstructing a Guerrilla Pastoral approach that emphasizes a broad kingdom imagination, practices a generous orthodoxy and celebrates a necessarily diverse praxis.

    In Flight by Aragon One

    In Flight by Aragon One

    by

    Since Jun 25, 2019 12:49 UTC

In Flight by Aragon One touches the topics of governance, empowering individual freedom and avoiding global dystopia. The hosts, Luis Cuende and Jorge Izquierdo, are the cofounders of the Aragon project, which creates tools to run organizations that are fully sovereign, global and transparent. The podcast tries to go far away from a serious, planned conversation, and instead focuses on the sporadic, genuine nature of a casual conversation. In this episode we invite Stefano Bernardi and Louis Giraux from the Aragon Association. Stefano is the Executive Director of the Aragon Association, and Louis helps manage the Aragon Flock and Nest grant programs. The Aragon Association has the surprising goal of making itself irrelevant, and transitioning all the project’s governance to the Aragon Network’s DAO. We will discover their plans to oversee the project’s development and eventually “fire” themselves and transition to the Network.

    Bad Band Great Song

    Bad Band Great Song

    by

    Since Jul 1, 2021 00:00 UTC

Bad Band Great Song is a music critique show that explores what critique means and how it affects us… while also doing the thing. But it’s primarily a show about Bad Bands who happen to have Great Songs. In each season we look at a collection of bands and some hallmark songs of theirs. We then, in each episode, tell the band’s story, discuss the key song’s creation and relevance, analyze and assess how the band may be considered bad, and finally, we declare that a song of theirs is great. And we defend that. Disagreement is encouraged.

Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil by Thomas Hobbes

Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil by Thomas Hobbes

    by

    Since Dec 2, 2023 00:00 UTC

Books 1 and 2. Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil is a book written in 1651 by Thomas Hobbes. The book concerns the structure of society (as represented figuratively by the frontispiece, showing the state giant made up of individuals). In the book, Hobbes argues for a social contract and rule by a sovereign. Influenced by the English Civil War, Hobbes wrote that chaos or civil war – situations identified with a state of nature and the famous motto bellum omnium contra omnes (”the war of all against all”) – could only be averted by strong central government. He thus denied any right of rebellion toward the social contract. However, Hobbes did discuss the possible dissolution of the State. Since the social contract was made to institute a state that would provide for the “peace and defense” of the people, the contract would become void as soon as the government no longer protected its citizens. By virtue of this fact, man would automatically return to the state of nature until a new contract is made.

Orthodox Faith, The by Saint John of Damascus (c. 676 – 749)

Orthodox Faith, The by Saint John of Damascus (c. 676 – 749)

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

The Orthodox Faith is the classic epitome of the Early Greek Fathers. Writing just before the last of the truly Ecumenical Councils (787), he remains to this day, the last of the Eastern theologians whole-heartedly received by the West. This work, then, is an ecumenical touchstone that remains authoritative in Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism (through Peter Lombard’s Sentances) and in all Reformation Churches interested in purging late medieval accretions and returning to the developed orthodoxy of Creedal Christianity. (Summary by Jonathan Lange)
