    Even If

    Even If

    by

    Since Mar 29, 2020 19:34 UTC

We want to be people who believe in God’s goodness, no matter what. But what do we do when life is anything but good? When God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we’ve asked or imagined? Or when disappointments and loss dominate this season of our lives? No stranger to loss and longing, Kelly Streiff creates space to acknowledge deep pain and grief, while walking with us on a journey of becoming “Even If” people – people who stand firm in our faith even if God doesn’t show up the way we expect or desire. Together, we’re navigating these seasons of life, learning how to stand firm when life is shaking, and with resolve in our hearts and, sometimes, with a quiver in our voice, boldly declare God’s goodness in our lives…Even If.

    Lectures on Tattva Sandarbha

    Lectures on Tattva Sandarbha

    by

    Since Feb 13, 2016 17:10 UTC

A series of lectures given by Dulal Chandra dasa on devotional service as presented on Sadhus, Bhagavatam, and more with emphasis on the practice of bhakti yoga. These lectures present knowledge of Krishna Consciousness as taught by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and his illustrious followers, the six goswamis. Dulal Chandra dasa is a direct disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Although I lack any personal qualification to lecture on the lofty subject of self realization, this presentation is my humble attempt to repeat what I have heard from my spiritual master and pass it on without adulteration. In this way I hope to serve the desire of my guru and provide you with some gems of transcendental wisdom that will hopefully spark an interest in ending your entanglement in material existence and becoming firmly reestablished in your eternal spiritual position. I present myself before you with a straw between my teeth, begging that you will listen to what is presented here with an open mind and heart. The transcendental wisdom which will be presented here is of the upmost importance for everyone wishing to advance to the topmost platform of spiritual awareness. This knowledge is descending through an unbroken chain of self realized spiritual masters directly from the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Hey man, I’ve heard you sold your dreams

Hey man, I’ve heard you sold your dreams

    by

    Since Feb 6, 2011 21:16 UTC

“Hey Man, I’ve Heard You Sold Your Dreams” is a collection of literary works by Benjamin G. Dubel. It is a treasure trove of poems that reaches deep into the mind and soul of youth with all its innocence and infinite wisdom. The author was but 17 years old when most of these were composed, yet they reflect a depth and maturity of someone who has experienced so much more in such a short time. His observations and thoughts of life, as well as various events he witnesses during this tumultuous time of development, are warm and heartfelt. The poems unleash an unbridled spirit and raw honesty of emotion as the author takes us on a journey throughout the ebbs and flows of his life. The struggles and grace of transcending into adulthood lie tenderly within the phrases of passion, pain, joy and confusion. He manages to collect and articulately document his thoughts and feelings on many facets of life. He captures the essence of the moment and writes with such clarity that is becomes easy to share in the experience. From heartache to heartbreak, disappointment to elation, each poem is chock full of some pivotal point in a youth’s life. The poem written in response to the Columbine massacre for example, shares a message of disdain and disappointment for such a heinous act. He calls out the vigilantes’ “one-way ticketed suicidal mission” and the sadness and memories left behind. In the poem entitled “Dreams”, his inspirational thoughts state “Life isn’t as hard as you think it seems, it’s always easier to look back and laugh” and in another segment “It’s a shame you had to go and let the best years of your life get you down”. Despite various components of challenge and adversity, the author somehow manages to find a positive spin of hope and revelation. This is a tribute to youth, both young and old and serves as testament that life is not easy, nor is it intended to be, but shows that in the end, you will be much richer for having lived through the experiences. Here are two examples from the collection of 130 poems: Poem 1 There are times I find myself sitting here wondering, if I ever see you again someday, could you forgive me? Even though it seems like you are so far away these days I look back now just to see I’ve been left behind … and if I could ever stand back up after falling down I know things would be different this time around. Well, I guess this is where I stand now before you forever guilty as sin, for everything I’ve done. But what difference does that make now anymore there’s a part of me that’s dead inside … knowing only memories, my mind keeps going blank as the thoughts of you wash away this time around. 2004 Poem 2 * “Dreams” Hey man … I hear you sold your dreams. Why did you run down the wrong path? Life isn’t as hard as you think it seems, it’s always easier to look back and laugh. Are you mad ‘cuz there’s no one to blame? Were you hoping that we would listen? I’m sorry that this happened, it’s a shame. There’s a way out but something is missin’. Hey man … I tried to tell you but you were always never around. It’s a shame you had to go and let the best years of your life get you down. So look at you now, is this where you stand? Why do you keep your mind in prison? You had so much going for you as a man but it looks like you have lost your vision. Hey man … you know I cried for you but no one ever seemed to care. Nothing anyone can say will correct the past, so I just hope you’ve found your way there.

    Ponniyin Selvan Audio Part-1

    by

    Since Aug 3, 2020 09:19 UTC

Ponniyin Selvan (பொன்னியின் செல்வன், English: The Son of Ponni) is a historical novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, written in Tamil. In five volumes or about 2210 pages, it tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman (அருள்மொழிவர்மன்), who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I. The book took more than three years to write; Kalki visited Sri Lanka three times to gather information for it. Ponniyin Selvan is widely considered by many to be the greatest novel ever written in Tamil literature. It was first published as a series in the Kalki, a Tamil language magazine, during the 1950s and was later integrated into a novel. The craze for the series which was published weekly was such that it elevated the magazine circulation to reach a staggering figure of 71,366 copies – no mean achievement in a newly independent India. Even today, the novel has a cult following and fan base among people of all generations. The book continues to be admired and garners critical acclaim for its tightly woven plot, vivid narration, the wit of the dialogue, and the way in which the power struggle and intrigues of the Chola empire were depicted. This audiobook originally comprises 5 Parts and this is Part I of the entire volume with 57 Chapters. As this book is a huge epic, we have facilitated the audience with the audiobook version to listen on the go. We wish all the book lovers a mesmerizing tour into the oldest Tamil dynasty with our most alluring voice cast Ms Saradha Mohan Kumar.
