    Shelf Lives

    by

    Since Aug 10, 2020 07:00 UTC

    https://supporter.acast.com/shelf-lives

Shelf Lives is a series of short, original audio plays exploring the fictional lives of the different people we all knew and loved during lockdown, in the one social setting we grew used to for many, many months: the supermarket.

Each episode follows a different character in the same shop, on the same day, at exactly the same time, as they get to grips with both private crises and one very public pandemic. These are short, sharp ten minute insights into people’s lives – plays in podcast form.

During this incredibly difficult time for the theatre industry, On A Wimb are committed to finding ways of creating new theatrical content. They want to work with fellow creatives to produce work that not only responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, but supports fellow theatre professionals and finds a way to help the industry flourish in spite of the circumstances. On A Wimb are currently working on another piece of online content which follows this same principle, which they’ll be announcing shortly.

On A Wimb is a theatre company founded in 2019 and comprised of Beth Colley, Emma Raczkowski, Jack Stanley and Stanley Walton. They formed because they thought we’re digging the planet into a bigger hole and wanted to do something about it (and I mean that was pre-pandemic 2019. Imagine how we feel now). Our work is eco-conscious, exploring issues that affect the planet in sustainable productions that try to lessen the impact on it. In 2019, they were shortlisted for the Les Enfants Terribles Award for emerging theatre companies.

    Rex Rivetter: Private Eye

    Rex Rivetter: Private Eye

    by

    Since Aug 1, 2016 22:59 UTC

Rex Rivetter: Private Eye is a modern audio drama. The year is 1955. Tinsel town. The land of make-believe. It’s a time of growth in American prosperity. Especially in Los Angeles. Here, dreams are bought and sold. But there’s a seedier side to the City of Angels, the shadows where pimps and narcotics pushers live, where organized crime stands just around every corner with one hand out, and the other wrapped around a roscoe. It’s a city full of fancy dames and slick cons, where bookies know the vig, so you better, too. Some folks call it noir or pulp fiction. But for a private eye named Rex Rivetter, it’s home.

    The HeavenField – Book Two

    The HeavenField – Book Two

    by

    Since Dec 25, 2009 00:14 UTC

The Second installment of The HeavenField novel – a fast-paced science-fiction thriller set within a British experimental Scientific Research Facility. “…The world has changed forever; we have opened the door to something which we don’t understand, and that door cannot be closed. I only hope we can change with the world.” The man had a fevered stare, and Thomas found himself mesmerised by his words, obscure as they were. The man suddenly stiffened, as if hearing a distant noise, then leaned close to Thomas once more. “They’re coming,” he whispered. When Grace Palmer and her team of research scientists discover a way into a mysterious world they name the HeavenField, they trigger a devastating chain of events. Bizarre, unexplained murders and attacks on the Project leave scientists trapped in the Field with no way to return. As their air supplies run low and their equipment begins to fail, their nightmares begin to play out before them. Now, as Grace Palmer tries to pick up the pieces of the shattered HeavenField Project, Alex finds himself travelling the wastes of the Field in an attempt to flee the mysterious Speers and Gutteridge. Soon though, he is forced to make a decision which may lead him back to Maunsworth House, and to ultimately kill again…
