A Mom’s Retreat With Lynn Lyons, LICSW

A Mom’s Retreat With Lynn Lyons, LICSW

    by

    Since Apr 5, 2020 19:14 UTC

Parenting isn’t easy, and it’s normal to worry. Lynn Lyons, therapist, author, and speaker is one of the world’s experts on helping parents, kids, and teens manage anxiety. She talks with co-host and sister-in-law Robin Hutson in a weekly podcast full of laughs, and practical advice without the psychobabble. At the beginning of the pandemic, Lynn and Robin started the Flusterclux podcast when their parenting retreats went on hiatus, and they’re now 2 years in, talking about anxiety and worry, their love for Mr. Rogers, and the crazy things the mental health field gets WRONG about anxiety. Anxiety Expert Lynn Lyons has been a therapist for over 30 years. She’s an author of 3 books with a new one coming out in October and has traveled around the US and Canada training hundreds of audiences teachers, school nurses, counselors and parents about managing anxiety. Flusterclux represents that feeling of overwhelm. Each episode is filled with practical advice for parents how to better manage their worry and big feelings like anger and sadness so that they are modeling healthy emotional awareness. Lynn answers listener questions and gives parents concrete strategies for developing the traits that are their kids’ best defenses against anxiety and depression later in life: flexibility, resilience, autonomy, and problem solving. New episodes every Friday at 5AM EST. Find us at flusterclux.com https://www.facebook.com/flusterclux https://www.instagram.com/flusterclux/

    Happyish Ever After

    Happyish Ever After

    by

    Since Mar 11, 2022 03:00 UTC

This podcast is about having tools and perspectives that help us all live our best life – not avoiding the ups and downs but learning and growing into our own truth. I grew up believing that if I could have the perfect life – which meant the if I was able to have the perfect body, perfect career, perfect family (see a trend yet) then I would be living the fairytale and would be happy. But I finally figured out that “perfect” isn’t a thing and the fairytale was never real. In fact, I learned that I was never going to find happiness or fulfillment in a story that written by someone else.My hope is that when you listen to this podcast it feels like having a conversation with a trusted friend. The people who come on the podcast bring their unique perspective and generously share their insight. You will walk away inspired and with tools and knowledge to start the journey of writing your own story. Welcome to the real story – your story.

Radiotherapy and its Physics – for iPad/Mac/PC

Radiotherapy and its Physics – for iPad/Mac/PC

    by

    Since Jun 26, 2008 22:17 UTC

This masters level science course aims to give you an understanding of the application of physics to the techniques of radiotherapy, one of the key weapons in the fight against cancer. It is designed to enable you to develop a broad and balanced appreciation of this area of contemporary medicine, rather than a detailed ‘professional’ knowledge. The course explains the principles of applying basic physics to radiotherapy in dosimetry, external and internal treatment methods, treatment planning and radiation protection. You’ll also study radiobiology and consider the effects of ionising radiation on biological tissues. By the end of the course, your understanding of these topics will enable you to discuss confidently the ethical, social and financial constraints in delivering radiotherapy. This material is taken from The Open University course S819 Radiotherapy and its physics.
