“We live in a time I think not of mainstream, but of many streams, or even, if you insist upon a river of time, that we have come to a delta, maybe even beyond delta to an ocean which is going back to the skies.” -John Cage This quote, I believe, truly embodies the idea of music today. Yet, this quote is even more applicable to world of “classical” music. There are so many different avenues of new classical music, that one must ask oneself, “That’s classical?” That is the idea that we try and explore every Sunday evening. Neo-classical, electro-accoustic, minimalism, soundscapes, and everything in between. Everything from Stravinsky to Eagle, Messiaen to Dallapiccola, Glass to Tüür, no musical stone is left unturned. So sit back, and enjoy the tunes.

An eclectic collection of unreleased Lapdancer material. Also, the occasional DJ mix sets manipulated and mangled for your earhole pleasures. From my heart to yours. Lapdancer AKA Drake Hills is a musician/noisician, filmmaker, writer, teacher, reader and coffee afficianado residing in Japan. [itunes pic]
Cobra Voice is an experiment in vocalics. A minimal and disjointed filmic sequence of squelches, creaking, squeaking, shrieks and other vocal induced noise. Like the cobra, the music here snaps, hisses and slides. At the same time, there is an underlying story here, a gentle melody floats in, a scene is painted on the screen of your mind, a cat, a horse, a house, a boat. This is by far one of my most powerful works and I provide it to you free of charge. WARNING: ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

Ron “AAlgar” Watt is the co-host of two comedy podcasts: Sarcastic Voyage (a comedy variety show) and the Post Atomic Horror (a humorous, episode-by-episode look at Star Trek). Occasionally, AAl records things that don’t fit the formats of these shows. More Bits is a catch-all for these things: serious discussions, in-depth analysis of pop culture and other not-easily-categorized audio flotsam. There’s no format and no release schedule. Just more bits.

A comprehensive exploration of contemporary experimental, psychedelic, noise & other obscure music. Hosted by Andy Ortmann (curator of the Nihilist Records label and member of longtime noise project Panicsville) presenting his obsessive perspective on the new difficult music. Peripheral and relating genres, including ethereal, electronic & extreme metal should also be expected in this weekly program. Sit back and relax into the hallucination amplification of The Eternal Now.

Twice a month we bring you two songs – songs you’ve probably never heard and songs you’ve requested we make for you. We serve you fresh originals and obscure gems, could be indie rock, pop, ambient soundscapes, experimental, music-made-on-retro-computers or whatever other genre we’ve wandered into to bring you good music. We also often feature satiric SuBBrilliant News reports from Tom Merritt. And you can ask us to make your dream song for you – specify the song title and what you’d like it to sound like, and your request could become a reality. One custom-made song requested by a listener will be featured every month, so get your own request in! We made a song for Krizette from the Philippines, who asked for a jam about being grounded at home, aka in a teenage prison. Also hear the spell-casting indie rock of Costa Rican band The Great Wilderness. Download Enhanced version of Episode 32 (right- or ctrl-click and select ‘Save as…’) On this show: – Teenage […]

‘Enlightenment, understood in the widest sense as the advance of thought, has always aimed at liberating human beings from fear and installing them as masters. Yet the wholly enlightened earth is radiant with triumphant calamity.’
—Dialectic of Enlightenment, Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, one true God. Amen.
The times are dark, and pestilence, famine, war, and death rule הַעוֹלָם הַזֶּ֗ה.
To listen to the still, small voice in our hearts is increasingly difficult as we view more and more chaos unfolding before us: neighbours distrusting neighbours, nations taking up arms against nations, man’s inhumanity to man.
Yet to keep quiet and listen to that voice is to hear the proclamation of a new nation, the Kingdom of God, which is within all of us. Whether you call it hesychasm or דְּבֵקוּת, it shows a glimpse of הַעוֹלָם הַבָּא, which we can only pray to come soon.
In the meantime, let us show compassion to one another, comfort the suffering, and share in one another’s joy.
On this Walpurgisnacht 2018:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, one true God. Amen.
