    Know Yourself podcast

    by

    Since Feb 25, 2018 02:34 UTC

Welcome to the Know Yourself podcast! I’m Dan Udale and I’ve struggled with anxiety and PTSD since I was 16. I’m here telling you my story because I absolutely love and am passionate about shining a light on mental resilience, mindset, and self awareness. I feel this way because of the major impact the tools I have learnt have had on my life and I want to share it to get a conversation going that can cultivate individuals understanding who they are, what their triggers are, that it is ok to feel depressed/anxious/lonely, and that you aren’t alone out there!

Girl Power Pod – A podcast about female leadership

Girl Power Pod – A podcast about female leadership

    by

    Since Oct 17, 2018 05:30 UTC

Girl Power Pod aims to inspire and motivate women to feel empowered to pursue their dreams. When I was growing up my dad told me that girls can do anything, and this is something I wish every woman could hear today. I believe that the inner desire to create change, and the external need for change, are linked – yet many of us feel helpless because we are so entangled in the current systems and structures. I feel that hearing real, inspiring stories from people who are questioning the way we live life, and who have made (or are in the process of making) this transition, is what’s needed to help guide other women on their journeys.

Women Writers: Voices in Transition – for iPod/iPhone

Women Writers: Voices in Transition – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since Jul 24, 2015 14:23 UTC

In the last century which women writers have truly challenged the existing forms of literature? How did they make their voices heard using brand new techniques and styles? For centuries there have been women writers who have changed the face of literature, but we tend to talk of their lives and work in very certain terms. This series of video-slideshows reveals how writing and reputation are often forged in transition, uncertainty and change. In these 4 films we re-examine the lives, work and influence of: Virginia Woolf, Jean Rhys, Katherine Mansfield and Jeanette Winterson. This material forms part of the Open University course A300 20th century literature: texts and debates.

The Disconnect: Power, Politics and the Texas Blackout

    by

    Since Jun 7, 2021 19:22 UTC

Millions of Texans lost power during a winter storm in February 2021. Hundreds may have died. And people wondered: “How could this happen in the energy capital of the U.S.?” To understand how we got the electric grid we have in Texas today, you have to understand the electric grid we had up until a little more than 20 years ago — and how a group of power companies, environmentalists, cities and state lawmakers hatched a plan to completely remake it. Did the experiment fail? Hosted by Mose Buchele and produced at KUT & KUTX Studios.
