Lust For The Limelight chronicles my journey through the music business of an independent artist putting together a project while building a fan base. Viewers get an inside look on how I approach create, record, market my music as well as integrate details about my life. Consider it a moving biopic loaded with music, riddled with successes and failures. This is my way of gaining exposure and building a brand.
Born and raised in Italy, Ben DJ is one of the most requested DJ/producers on the international clubbing scene. From the start of his career to today, Ben has played all over the place: from Ibiza to Milan passing through Miami… For some time now he is also a main player, thanks to his productions, in the charts that count such as Billboard, Beatport or iTunes. Over the last few years he has unleashed a run of club hits: from Me & Myself, Relax Your Mind and Mistress to the more recent Music Of Life, Let’s Get Closer, Everytime That I Need Your Love, Alive, Keep On and not forgetting the massive French Kiss 2011. Some of his biggest radio friendly tracks have to be Sorry, I’m In Love, Freedom Call and above all Smile during the Summer of 2010. Not just a lot of hits but also some very prestigious collaborations; amongst the DJ’s that have shared the studio with Ben we see names such as Lissat & Voltaxx, Wolfgang Gartner, Marco Lys, The Ignorantz, Outwork, Relight Orchestra, Paolo Aliberti and DJ Ross. None the less are the labels that have published his tracks: CR2, Time, Starlight, Bootylicious, Melodica/Tambour and SupeSonik just to name a few. Ben DJ boasts great support from big names all around the globe: Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Mark Brown on his compilations dedicated to the clubbing capitals of the world like Miami and Ibiza and, closing in style, the Hed Kandi crew in the UK.

“The Sound of New York City” is a project born from the idea of its founder back in 2006 to encourage the rediscovery of the Disco Sound, including Soul – Funk – House, while at the same time make use of my extensive vinyl collection, much of which was gathered from underground sources, dating back to 1975.
In December 2009 the initial project was transformed into a live, 24/7 web radio station:
TSoNYC™ The Sound of New York City™. The station’s programming is based on the history of New York’s clubs like “Paradise Garage” and “The Loft”, with their protagonists Larry Levan and David Mancuso, as well as Detroit and Chicago with “The Warehouse” and “The Gallery”, where Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy spread their style. The TSoNYC sound includes Nu-Disco and Deep House, showcasing DJ contemporaries such as Moodymann, Danny Krivit, Theo Parrish, LTJ experience, and others who are now contributing to the rediscovery of this immortal music.
The growing interest for this genre of music is being demonstrated as our site last year reached more than 14 thousand visitors, with tremendous audiences tuning not only within the USA and Canada, but also in Germany, Greece, Japan, Russia, France, Poland, England and Italy as well.
Be sure to check out our podcasts and new track releases on Facebook, iTunes and Podomatic.
Each week international guest DJs perform exclusive mixes. Among some of the latest to be featured: Ashley Beedle (UK), Disco Dave (Sweden), Gilo (Italy), Gino Grasso (Italy), Jeff White (Chicago, USA), danyb (Italy), Joseph Colbourne (Boston, USA), Ly Sander (Switzerland), Nicholas (Italy), MichiNYC (Italy), Sauro Cosimetti (Italy), Soulparanos (France), Soulseduction (Greece), Katzuma (Italy), and many others will.
These then become mix podcasts that are downloaded more than 3500 times per month on average.
The radio can be reached directly from the website or the iTunes Radio under the category 70’s music and Electronica
Stay Tuned…

WRFR.org presents the most interactive form of audio entertainment on radio today. THE RETURN OF THE MIXTAPE! “I Made You This Mix Tape” is heard twice a week on the first 24 hr low power radio station in the country, WRFR 93.3fm, located in Rockland, Maine. The show, hosted by Nate Greenleaf and produced by Renee Philbrook, revives the personal compilation tapes made by individuals in the 1980’s. Often built upon a theme, the mix tape consisted of songs, poetry, comedy bits, clips from tv shows and movies, whatever.. as long as it aided the creator to express what they were thinking and feeling. Usually the mixtape was created with a specific listener in mind. Our program seeks to revive the now lost art of fitting as much sentiment as possible into 49 minutes.
