Foretold is a brand new and unique podcast series from a distant future. Each episode we take on a possible (or plausible) future scenario in Africa. The episodes feature commentary and interviews with fictional personalities and companies from around the continent focusing on all aspects of Africa’s technology development. The future is not random or predetermined. It’s the result of the choices that the current generation makes now. Foretold is PART time-travel and PART storytelling podcast. Foretold is a production of the Institute for African Future (IF/AF).

Life is freaking hard. We are all doing hard things every single day – things like loving and losing; caring for children and parents; forging and ending friendships; battling addiction, illness, and loneliness; struggling in our jobs, our marriages, and our divorces; setting boundaries; and fighting for equality, purpose, freedom, joy, and peace. On We Can Do Hard Things, Glennon Doyle, author of UNTAMED; her wife Abby Wambach; and her sister Amanda Doyle do the only thing they’ve found that has ever made life easier: Drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard things including sex, gender, parenting, blended families, bodies, anxiety, addiction, justice, boundaries, fun, quitting, overwhelm . . . all of it. We laugh and cry and help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, free-er, less alone.

Hello, my child. This is your MOTHER speaking. Don’t believe me? Well, if I weren’t your MOTHER, then how would I know how many times I dropped you on your head, or how upset I was when the abortionist told me you were too far along to purge from my unwilling womb? There, there, now. Don’t cry. MOTHER IS HERE. And she has many special stories she wants to tell you. Fantasy epics, inbred debauchery, unicorns, dead children. So rest your head, little one, and let MOTHER tell you a story.
